I have taken the holiday food dump.............Maybe others too
I read this board a lot esp the menu thread. I need some advice as I am reading FB groups too and it is so confusing. I have taken a 2 week dump. I have fallen off plan since my drs appt for my 3 year check up(where I have stayed the same weight for 3 years) and through the holidays. Have not gotten on the scale in 2 weeks. I know I need to start there tmw am no excuses. Should I just get back on track or do shakes etc. From reading the menu thread I do see most of you just go forward.
Goal for New Year is to get on my treadmill no excuses for winter months. Living in North East we are in 6 months of winter.
TIA for your comments and help.
Hope this helps others too. I can not be alone.

Yes, come join the daily menu thread. We are all in this together.
Don't do shakes, stick to the basics, lean protein and vegetables. Nothing fills me up and keeps me satisfied like protein.
FB groups are not good places for truthful, experienced information. They're usually a place to go to get someone to agree with a bad plan. They're more for enabling than cold hard truth.
Here is where you have good, experienced veterans *****search and bring both science and experience.
From experience, back on track is the way to go. Carbs under 50g per day (meat, seafood, fish, vegetables, dairy). Log everything that passes your lips into something like MyFitnessPal. Join in on the menu thread for support/camerarderie. Acknowledge that losing regain is not like post surgery weightloss. Drink lots of water. Of course you're taking your vitamins, right?
You cannot out exercise a bad diet, but it will make you feel stronger and healthier.

What Kim said. Forget the Facebook groups and forget the shakes.

IMHO, 'Fakebook' (not a fan of FB) is not the place to get honest and helpful information in regards to RNY. Sure, there are motivating pictures but the bad advice that floats around there is so misleading.
You are here, stay here. Learn from the vets, participate in the menu threads, and be prepared for sound advice from those who have been there before us.
You are not alone.
