What's on your Wednesday menu,RNYers?
Late post for me! I was up at 8 and hit the gym. There was a bit too much indulging yesterday, I'm afraid. The scale didn't show it this morning, but I'm still going to buckle down and maybe do AMAW (or at least CAMAW) for the rest of my Christmas break.
Qotd: I got a Comfy! It's basically a huge oversized hoodie made out of a thick fleece blanket (pics included). Last night I threw it on over my Cuddleduds and fell asleep watching movies in my big armchair. I felt like a hibernating bear!
Breakfast: coffee before the gym, then a scrambled egg and 2 slices of thick cut peppered bacon (so I guess CAMAW it is, if I'm having eggs)
breakfast was late, so I may not have a real lunch, but I'll have a tuna packet if I think I need a snack
dinner: leftover turkey. Not sure what I want to do with it. Maybe just have it with some gravy

Hello my friends! Happy day after Christmas, and for our Canadians, happy Boxing Day! I hope that everyone had a beautiful Christmas Eve and a happy and very Merry Christmas Day!
I think that our neighbors to the North have got it right - one more consecutive day of holiday is a very good idea. I nominate December 26!
I had a wonderful Christmas Eve - until I got sick, anyway. I was at my DIL's grandmother's house. Her grandmother's tradition is to decorate the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve (she said it's because they're Episcopalian and Canadian and that it's a Church of England thing, but I suspect it's more idiosyncratic than that. Although didn't the Crawleys decorate their enormous tree on Christmas Eve on Downton Abbey?). At any rate, we all decorated the huge tree first, and then had dinner. It was all pretty casual, yet festive. I brought several plates of appetizers, and someone else made chili. I had champagne and some of the cheese, a few olives and some roasted/salted almonds from the appetizer plates. I had 1.5 glasses of champagne and did feel a little buzzed, then had the chili, which was good and meaty. The person who made it it said that there was some chocolate and some coffee in her recipe. Before I left, I had two cups of coffee, and I had a handful of almonds while driving.
I'd been feeling well enough until that point, but the nuts seemed to be the final insult. Oh man, was I sick! I was in terrible pain driving home, and couldn't even walk upright when I arrived - I walked completely bowed over, holding my poor stomach. I was in vicious pain for hours. Profuse sweating - no chills. Horrible vomiting - not the mild baby-like spit up type common after RnY, but deep, gut-wrenching, and painful. I know this is TMI, but I was vomiting bile - bizarre bluish green, and unbelievably bitter. And acid, which burned my throat and nasal passages horribly for hours afterwards.
Anyway, I hope never to experience an episode like that ever again. I think I probably overdid it with the alcohol, and then with the coffee, and the nuts were a bad idea. I guess I really just can't drink - vomiting bile is terrible and it seems to have a link to alcohol consumption. Plus the coffee was strong and acidic. I barely drink as is - last time I had 1/2 glass of champagne was on Mother's Day - but apparently having 1.5 glasses put me over the top. I may be able to handle 1/2 glass once or twice a year, but will keep it to that from now on - if I have any at all.
But by the time the sun rose I was feeling okay, so off I went to my DIL'S mom's house, where we all had a grand meal of Maine lobster, exchanged presents, and generally had a lovely, convivial time. I wore my new, beautiful green dress with the center lace panel, which made me happy.
Today all is well. I weighed in at 133.0.
Firs: tea, several soothing mugs
