What's on your Christmas Menu RNY'ers?
Hi all
the last 2 days have been a real crap shoot food wise. it ends after today and I'm back on it,
QOTD: I kind of wish we never moved to our new house. im sure it was a good decision financially (super low mortgage) but for over a year my life has been a hot mess we have probably sunk in 55,000 so far- weight has gone up, then up some more thanks to a website that told me I could eat 1500-1800 calories and still lose weight. I will get to where I want to be this year. It might just take a long long time and I have to be patient.
kind of bummed today read some very negative comments on facebook saying surgery was the easy way out and i commented on them- I should have just keep scrolling. I don't think any of these normies have a clue what daily life after bypass is like.
food for today:
protein pancakes with 1/4 banana and powdered PB
coffee
water
coffee
leftover zuchinni lasagna
leftover pizza toppings?
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate!
Yesterday was OK food-wise until I ate 1.5 cups of ice cream after dinner. Ugh. This morning wasn't so good, either (brunch at Mom's). I made this cranberry/cinnamon coffee cake that was great, so I had a big piece of it. Plus I took some rugelach over there that I'd had in my freezer for the last two or three years. It was great, also - had two pieces of that. Plus a slice of summer sausage and about 2 oz of cheese (that part wasn't bad). Oh - and a couple handfuls of some popcorn that had chocolate dribbled on it. I had to lie down for awhile after brunch because I had such a sugar high. NO MORE. They're all coming over to my house late this afternoon for an evening of games, puzzles, and appetizers (my sister is bringing the appetizers). I hope she brings something safe. Otherwise, I'll be eating cottage cheese or Greek yogurt or something else safe out of my own fridge. I'm so over sugar.
QOTD: I don't regret anything, really. Well, maybe paying an architect to draw blueprints for a screened porch that I don't think we're going to be able to afford to build (still thinking about what to do, though).
3.5 years out:
B: two peanut butter/chocolate protein powder balls, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
Brunch: piece of coffee cake, 2 rugelach, 1 oz summer sausage, 2 oz cheese, a couple handfuls of popcorn
AS: protein shake
D: ??
Looking forward to starting afresh in the morning. I don't like eating this way....or feeling this way.
Merry Christmas Peachie and menu crew! Just popping by to say Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas! Stay healty my friends, Mike

QOTD: Would have cleaned the grill before putting 4 huge Prime ribeye steaks on the first nice day last spring. I went to grill them after the long winter, forgot to clean out from the preceding year and the the whole grill caught on fire. Even after I turned off the gas the temperature was reading 700 degrees and I could hear the rivets popping in the trays. Marilyn had to come out with the fire extinguisher. Fortunately we were able to save the meat.
Take care everybody.
