I was MIA this weekend, accountability was bad. I didn't even track my food, that is called denial and I need to quit it.

It's a good thing that I'm working from home today as I dumped my mocha on my keyboard, the desk, my shirt, my pants and the chair. What a mess and not an appealing smell either. All the clothes I threw in the washer. Cleaned my keyboard as best I could and made myself some black coffee. My keyboard was not clear of mocha and I managed to dump some more on my clean shirt, grrr... another change of shirts. I pried the keys off and cleaned it up, so now it's ok.

I should go out and look at an issue, but my fielder said he will go with me on Wednesday so I'll hold off until then. I started early today and have a couple of hours banked so I will get off early today and tomorrow.

I finished my shopping on Saturday and braved Walmart for some plastic bins for my friend. It was awful, at 5PM really dark, the traffic was a nightmare cold and rainy and low visibility made the drive really scary.

I'm not sure what I'm doing with my Mom for Christmas. She is going to mass tonight, has a dinner or brunch invitation tomorrow as well as someone bringing her a dinner plate. So I'm not sure when I'll see her. Or what we will do, no gifts anyway, just stocking stuffers for my Mom.

I will try to survive the day without too many carbs. On a happy note my Seahawks are going to the playoffs, not that they have much of a chance but you never know.

Have a great Christmas Eve everyone, we will all survive!

Julia, I was driving to the airport once and took a big sip of coffee with cream. Well, it hit something in the back of my throat that wasn't meant to be touched and I immediately coughed it all back out on the inside of the windshield. I immediately turned on the windshield wipers only to be reminded that the coffee was inside the car not outside. Eventually I was able to see and continue driving to the airport.

Mornin' All! (well, almost noon out here in the Upper Midwest! We're hosting my brother, so I haven't had time to check in until now)

my BIL insisted we go out to dinner tonight or tomorrow night and NOT cook like we normally do (we usually make something like lasagna or beef stroganoff on Christmas). But of course, he didn't really do any research on this -- hardly anything is open except for some chain places, fancy places charging like $75 a plate, and Chinese restaurants (which I would be fine with, but sis and BIL said they are getting burnt out on Chinese food). I could have killed him. So I ended up going over to the Italian deli up the street and buying a lasagna. I could have made the damn thing myself for 1/3 of the price - but of course I don't really have the time now, and it's a lot of work (had I known, I would have started on it yesterday). ARRRGGGGGHH. I hope he never suggests this again! So we'll have to do our dinner out on Wednesday night instead.

QOTD: I haven't bought myself anything in awhile except for these sock things I got at Walgreens last week (which I wear as slippers) and my new (to me) dresser - so I guess that...

I was going to go to Zumba this morning but decided not to. My brother was up early (he's still on Eastern time), and I felt kind of weird leaving to go to the gym.

3.5 years out:

B: homemade coconut Greek yogurt with 1/2 mango, one Unjury chocolate/peanut butter ball (which I made with Syntrax Truffle rather than Unjury chocolate powder)

MS: coffee with half & half, protein shake, SF/FF hot chocolate (trying to safely deal with this dang chocolate craving I've had all day...)

L: homemade cottage cheese

AS: protein pumpkin pie?? Or maybe more cottage cheese. Or a small bowl of TJ's High Fiber cereal.

D: small piece of lasagna and salad

Afternoon RNY'ers!! I'm off and was at the gym first thing, since they will be closed for my usual Tuesday workout. (I'll run tomorrow.) Ran to the supermarket and then to the bank to get the kids Xmas cash, and finally to the mall to get a new cologne for my hubby. My son's package finally updated, and it looks like it should get here today- whew!!!!

I'll season up the meats for tomorrow's dinner, and maybe bake some brownies. No real meal plan for tonight but I plan on making homemade mozzarella sticks- maybe I'll sauté some shrimp too and make it an appetizer night.

Qotd: I bought myself an instant pot- and took adavantage of a bogo shoe deal at macy's. It's HARD not to shop for me-- I mean who else knows so well what I like. I LOVE the instant pot and am exploring new ideas and recipes.

217 today, 3.7 years out

m1: blueberry bagel, 2 boiled eggs

m2: ham/teriyaki chicken/cheese open face sandwich

m3: shrimp!

Merry Christmas Eve, my kindred! I wish each and every one of you happiness and peace on this magical wintry eve!

My family always stayed home on Christmas Eve when I was growing up. We would have seafood and vegetable dishes for dinner, make a fire in the fireplace, play Christmas music, enjoy my mother's amazing assortment of cookies and her potica (pronounced poe-TEET-sa), a traditional holiday sweet yeast bread with walnuts and honey, or poppy seeds and Sultanas - she always made both). We would all open one present each. Then to bed, but for me, never to sleep - I could never sleep on Christmas Eve. I was always way too thrilled. I think back on all of the effort my parents put into making such wonderful memories for us and honestly, I am humbled.

Last night I made some of the appetizers I will take to my DIL's grandmother's house today. I have dips yet to make, but those are easy. Then a quick stop to pick up some flowers or a poinsettia, and off I'll go! So glad that I get to see my son today. I haven't seen all of my DIL's family (except for a few people) since Easter, when her stepmother pointedly asked me how much weight I had lost. At the time I was taken aback and hadn't a good answer prepared, and I mumbled something like "around 100 pounds". Actually it had been considerably more, so I'm glad I at least shaded my response! Today if she probes again I'll give the exact same answer. But aside from that minor discomfort, today should be wonderful. I want to cast all of my cares and worries aside today and tomorrow, and concentrate on being happy and having an open heart. Tonight I will go to midnight mass.

QOTD: I bought myself black, deep blue, burgandy, and grey velvet leggings by Spanx. Fabulous leggings! I also picked up two beautiful velvet tunic tops. And I bought myself two pairs of those amazing NYDJ jeans. Three pairs actually, but they refunded one order because they ran out of my size!

The other day I was wearing my new long, lean jeans and some high heeled boots, feeling tall and slender. I was at the grocery store, trying on tiptoe to reach the paper towels from the top of the stack, high on the highest shelf. It was a stretch! I managed to get some down, and as I did a shorter lady behind me said "If you can't get them down, what hope is there for the rest of us?". I thought that was very cute.

First: tea, lots of tea

B: tuna

L: probably a little of the cheese appetizers I prepared

D: whatever is on the menu, minus heavy carbs and sweets. But I will have some champagne!

I wish everyone here a very warm and tender Christmas Eve. May all of the blessings of this holy season be yours, no matter what your cir****tances. I'm so grateful and glad to know you all. You have enriched my life!
