I'd go shopping with you if we lived closer! I have a pretty good eye for that type of thing, and it would be fun!

Hello my RnY friends! Happy Wednesday!

This evening I am going to see a dear friend I rarely see - it's been several years. She is in Seattle on business, and I'm excited to be able to spend an evening with her. Plus she is bringing me some dresses, skirts, etc. in a smaller size than she currently is. That is very nice of her, as she has exquisite and expensive taste and the pocketbook to afford truly gorgeous clothes.

it's been a very strange and very unpleasant and rough past few days for me, and it isn't over yet. I need a break. But I'm holding steady food-wise and bit by incremental bit am going down the scale. I refuse to sabotage myself even when having no choice but to deal with someone who is being truly in my face, truly unkind, and terribly immature.

I read a poem a while ago by a woman whose name I unfortunately don't remember. In it, there was a line about her attempt to run away from herself - something like "the abandoned child, desperately trying to abandon herself" or some such. The line struck me as unbearably poignant. I will not abandon myself or my goals. Keeping to the straight and narrow now and during the long years to come of maintenance will not always be easy, and like now there will be episodes of great strain. But I am going to be my own supporter, my own advocate, and want always to stand in my own corner, have my own back, and fight for my health, peace, and happiness - no matter what. And of course I have the great good fortune to be here with All of you. I want you to know that I love and appreciate your kindness, good humor, and empathy!

QOTD: Raising, largely as a single mother, a wonderful kid to be a brilliant, creative, kind, loving, productive, stable and happy adult! Nothing else even comes close.

D: probably a shrimp ****tail, or some salmon - dinner out.

In Sicily, the mafia families when they want to send a "back off or else" message they send a goat head to the person's door. So this person who is in your face, just say the word and I'll send a goat head to his/her door. The message will be received loud and clear!
