What's on your Tuesday menu RNYers?
Hello!
I have not had surgery yet. I have been stuck in a holding pattern with the OHSU bariatrics program - having a hard time meeting A1C requirements. However, I received good news yesterday and wanted to share it - I?ve been approved for a different program with a more forgiving A1C requirement - I have an appointment on Thursday for the initial!
I am hoping it is okay if I post on the daily menu forums, even though I have not had the surgery yet - I will be!
QOTD: What I want for Christmas is warm, happy Christmas memories for my family - very important to me this year.
Menu?
I had ham for breakfast - maybe a bite or two too much as I am having light nausea now.
Coffee/Water
Homemade Hungarian mushroom soup for lunch
Water
Paleo (low-carb) casserole leftovers
Merry Christmas,
Laura
The new program that I'm starting with on Thursday is "Legacy Bariatrics". The appointment is at Good Samaritan - on the east side of the river. I do not know yet who the surgeon is.
I will have to be up at 6 AM to get there by 8 AM because I live 3 blocks to the Portland side of the Portland/Beaverton city limits divide. :( Lots of planning.

I was wrong. I apologize; the passenger that took down the address told me it was east side! Ha! Good call - you saved me quite a lot of trouble very early in the morning!
I live in the Raleigh Hills area, so not so far! And I won't forget the validation. Thanks!

They have a support group that meets twice a month at Good Sam, I've been a couple of times. But it is hard to get myself to fight the traffic after work. It's usually Wednesdays from 6:30-8PM and there are some really nice people there. You are welcome to go even pre-op.
You are so welcome to this forum, it's nice to see someone else from my area on here!
Keep us posted, and if you want to meet sometime send me a message.

welcome!! And it's totally fine to post when you're pre-op -- several people who've been part of this group started posting when they were pre-op. Plus I used my pre-op months to gradually ease into a post-op way of eating - gradually lowering my calories, increasing my protein, decreasing my carbs, etc. And now you'll know, too, what post-ops eat at the various stages. This should be really helpful!!! I hope you'll keep coming back!
