What's on your PHOTO FRIDAY Menu, RNYers?
Mornin'!
we have to take DH's car in for a regular service this morning. We'll probably go out for coffee afterward. Meeting a friend for lunch. Then...?? I should probably hit a yoga class or go to the gym this afternoon.
QOTD: not new products, but my new favorite dessert/evening snack is 1/2 T unsweetened cocoa powder mixed into a thing of Carbmaster vanilla yogurt with a few fresh raspberries on top (I'm sure it would taste just as good with vanilla L&F, although I haven't tried it).
3.5 years out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt with homemade cranberry/cherry sauce
S: coffee with half & half, protein shake
L: hopefully not much. Chili if they have it
AS: hummus and baby carrots
D: I may just have cottage cheese (did last night, too - very filling!)
Didn't you just have PS a week ago? Gym/yoga already?

no - you must have missed the day I told the story. The surgeon injured his hand (I think a day or so before). We were already in Chicago, so I was not happy, but it's not like he did it on purpose or anything. He said he could try to do it anyway, but I don't know how on earth he was supposed to operate with one hand. My guess is he would have had one of his residents do it (it's a teaching hospital) while he "supervised", but I didn't want that. I have nothing against residents, but I paid a lot of money to have this particular surgeon do it. If I was OK with having a resident do it, I would have gone through the university's residency clinic and had it done for a lot less money.
anyway, he thought he'd be able to do it in another week and that he'd have his nurse call me to re-schedule, but she (the nurse) said he's being extremely optimistic - she figured it'd be mid-January before he could perform surgery again. I really would prefer not to schedule a non-critical, out-of-state surgery in January - or even February - because of the weather. With my luck, we'll have some huge blizzard that day, and they'll have to reschedule again. So I think I may wait 'til late March or even April to do it.
so anyway, disappointing, but life happens. I just wish we would have found out about this before we drove down there. Either he thought he was going to be able to do it, or he thought I'd be OK with a resident doing it - not sure.
we were able to cancel the last two nights in our hotel without penalty, so we just bummed around the city and then met up with one of my cousins on Saturday - then came back home. I guess we can consider it DH's birthday weekend trip, although it was cold as all get-out!! We could have done a lot more if the weather was more cooperative!
Wow - yes I did miss it as I have been busy with DH a lot lately. Well I'm glad you are waiting for the fully trained surgeon. Have a wonderful holiday!

Good morning everyone. I am thankful the weekend is here! I am going to the doctor this morning. I have had a sore throat the past few days and it is getting worse. My lymph nodes are very swollen and sore. I don't have a fever, so I don't think its strep. I am miserable at night. I just want to feel better!! It hurts so bad to swallow. Lots of hot tea.
QOTD- I love Naked Cow Jerky. I buy it on Amazon. It is spendy, no sugar, 24 protein, 0 carbs. I love that it is 2.25 oz and portioned out. I keep a bag in my purse and at work. My favorite flavor is the Fire and the Smoke.
Food for today-
Hot tea
scrambled eggs
Lots of hot broth
Light and fit yogurt
Not sure what else, something soft
Have a great weekend, stay healthy!
