What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?

Ok, did I say that Monday was a disaster? Because yesterday was so so so so SO much crazier. My school is actually the number one news story on all of the local stations right now! A student in the middle school brought pepper spray to school and it went off in a classroom. It was basically a hazmat situation with multiple ambulances checking everyone out. So... that was my day. Did I eat on plan? Nope. My secret snowflake bought me chocolate covered cherries and I ate 1/2 the package after I came in from dismissal duty--which was being live streamed on Twitter from a helicopter (I'm famous!). Yep, I ate them. Grrrr. On the plus side I had close to 20,000 steps from running emergency personnel all over the building. Ha. My life is INSANE.

I just typed out a really long response and my naughty puppy went under the computer and sat on the surge protector cord and all internet went GONE
Middle school is a really challenging aged group to work with. It does sound like you had a chaotic day. Then to add insult to injury caught on heli-camera ... I hope today is better.
I have a small window of time at home this morning and then will probably be gone most of the day. I am hoping that if things go smoothly I can get on the treadmill before I have to leave for an appointment. I hope that my teens don't eat the chicken I would like for dinner left over from last night. I have back up plans for meal planning though. I can eat a tuna pack or HB egg for protein and I have greek yogurt for a snack somewhere in there.
I am really struggling getting in my PPI, carafate, vitamins, water and food. Everything has to be spaced and it is really stressing me out to feel like I am failing at getting things "right". I don't see many other posts talking about feeling like they are failing at getting things right. Am I alone on this? I am going to talk to the GI about it today at my appointment and see if they have any suggestions.
No, you're not alone, I struggle between calcium, iron, and coffee figuring out when to take them where they won't cancel each other. I've started taking my calcium first thing in the morning, and don't start coffee until I get to work, so that's about an hour-hour and a half time. Then I take iron after work, but I have to be mindful if I've had my afternoon cup of decaf. Sigh.

You are definitely not alone, I was so frustrated when I was put on carafate. There are times when I take a dose at 4AM to get all 4 in for the day. I also found out that it reduces the effectiveness of omeprazole if you take it within an hour... So my vitamins have not been happening and I'm lucky if I get in 4 doses of carafate in a day. I've never had an ulcer before and I haven't taken any NSAID's so it is frustrating to say the least.
I just try to do the best I can, and I'm not even close to perfect. And yes it does feel like I'm failing very badly. But I try not to let it get to me.
Don't let it get to you, much easier said than done. But just do the best that you can, that's what I'm trying to do. And don't forget to be kind to yourself!

I don't have trouble with getting my vitamins in but then I don't think I take as many as others do. I take two multi in the morning and then two calcium at lunch. I don't take any other medication or vitamins and my levels have been fine since my 6 months check up. I go in two weeks for my year out visit and we will review my blood work so things may be changing.

Very busy day ahead including our office parties...forecasted to include many drunken co-workers! Not a fun day. That said, I am trying to be merry & bright, so I dressed up...
I also forecast that I will have some nibbles, but I plan to go to the cafeteria for a salad and protein BEFORE the parties so I get something more healthy.
Take care everyone!

The last 2 years there have been long rounds of drinking games and very rowdy behavior. It is generally overlooked but I really don't need to be a part of it...

About 3:30, the chief came hurrying past my desk and almost fell over and smashed into the wall because he had been enjoying the spirits a bit much....
Lots of very loud and rowdy people who thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I filled a small plate with steamed shrimp, baby carrots and a tiny slice of sweet potato pie. I said hello and then ate at my desk with my earbuds in to muffle the sound.
