I don't know if this is an option but when my nephew was deployed, I bought him a kindle and before I gave it to him, I loaded all my books on it and so they stayed on the device even after he connected it to his account. Voila, instant library!

hi all
power FINALLY back on!!!! thank the good lord
It went out sunday morning 2 am and just got fixed. I made coffee on a wood burning heater and cooked eggs and bacon on the wood heater. I had a meltdown this morning and cried- couldn't get fire to start and was cold and upset.
QOTD: I would do a giant gift basket with things college kids need. Like a shower caddy with body wash, razors, etc. I do this for the girls int he family each christmas and they love it. I shop throughout the year for makeup etc. then they can swap with each other the things they don't like. you can also put GC's in the basket.
food for today
protein bar for breakfast
coffee
water
cooking chicken from freezer in IP so it doesnt spoil

I am sorry about the situation with losing power. It is really sobering how much can be lost. It has happened to me before. I still freeze things but I learned and considered changing up my methods of food storage after that. I still wouldn't handle that situation well because life is hard enough though because let's face it - no power means no hot showers and no coffee and gosh, life is hard enough without grid down.
I like your qotd answer. I think a lot of college kids might need something like that.
Good Morning! Hope everyone had a great weekend! We had fun this weekend, it was my husbands Christmas party. No one recognized me lol! I actually wore a nice gown and I think we were the most dressed up people there. But it was fine! Then we went to the local pub afterwards with some of the couples, now walking in there with a gown was pretty funny. Considering we play trivia there all the time.. They were like what in the world.
I had my 1 year post op appt last week, down 146# overall. They asked me where "I" want to be and I told them probably another 10#. Said they tell people that when you hit a weight and hold it for 3 months that is typically your stopping point. I've been hovering around 168-170 for about 3 weeks, but I really want to hit 160.
QOTD: My college student child always wants money..thats all she ever says. I get my kids random $20 gift cards as well (One is 16 and one is 20) to their favorite restaurants so they have money there. Just like fast food ones that they hit up with their friends.
B-Premier shake..didn't have time for anything else
L-Stuffed pablano pepper with sour cream and tomato on top.
D-Somewhere out and quick, my son's Christmas band concert is tonight, so we will have to grab something in between work and that.
I'll attach my 1 year side by side (Last years anniversary to this years) and a pic from the Christmas party since I'm terrilbe about coming in daily and will probably forget by Friday.
