thanks! I wish I could do so much more for them. I dont think I will ever be able to fully pay them back for everything...but I know they will appreciate the painting regardless. my mom especially always loves hand made gifts the most.
I pride myself on making her cry with some of them LOL...i did a portrait of my sister and brother and I about 12 years ago and she still has it hanging in her dining room.

I am so sorry about the financial situation with the furnace. You are SO TALENTED artistically and creatively though. They must have understood and surely they are proud of you. Hang in there. We all have been in the "when it rains it pours" place and the stresses that build around the holidays are bad enough I know this must have been super difficult but it sounds like you are handling it well. The salt ornament idea is great. I have a kit for my youngest that has been sitting for several years that I keep forgetting to put to use. I have thought about doing it for her Mimi this year before she outgrows it. Gah. I love your painting!

oh yea - 20 years is about the life of a furnace these days. I'm surprised those HVAC guys didn't suggest replacing it when they first got there rather than trying to repair it. Thank goodness for all those Banks of Dad out there!!!

no kidding! My parents have gotten me out of so many monetary holes, I don't even know where to begin to thank them. I really am a responsible adult, but I swear I get hit hard sometimes!

I will watch your tutorial when I get home; your make up is also so perfect! I love your painting; I didn't know those are a "pouring" technique!

Sorry that your furnace needs replacing! Thank goodness for kind and helpful parents. Mine helped me so many times. No matter what, I don't think we can ever truly balance what we owe them. We just have to be grateful, and if there comes a time where we can pay back a little of the love they have shown us, we have to be ready to do so. I took care of my mom for the last two years of her life, and am so grateful I had the chance to return a little of what she gave me - but we never really can fully balance our debt to good parents. The best we can do is to live good lives and be there when they need us.

I enjoyed your makeup tutorial and agree, you are adorable.

Your pour is interesting and complex. It reminds me of some beautiful Italian marbled paper I have. I have a friend who is heavily into pours, but she incorporates lots of found objects into them. Me, I stick with old school painting (and digital as well), but it's fascinating to see what others are doing. Thanks for showing us!

This couldn't have come at a better time, I'm 60 and my mother never wore makeup so I never really learned how to put it on. After the picture I posted I realize I definitely need makeup and someone to teach me how to dress. So I'm starting with your video. Thank you!

Good morning~ I had a really nice weekend. A really great mix of fun, productive and relaxing. A big bummer was Rob's car repairs were pretty expensive so shopping is on hold and it's killing me! I still have many things to get but they can wait until next week. I hate cutting it this close. Anyway - it is what it is. I'm taking all of Christmas week and half of New Years week off! I have a lot of work to get done before then so I better get cracking!

QOTD - I don't know what to buy for my son either. We were talking last night and I was asking - gift cards? Gaming stuff? Clothes? Money? He said no - mind you he is in different situation - he can't take anything back with him -yet. I told him we would just have a ton of fun while he is home and he was good with that. Of course I did get him the usual, which he will leave at home when he goes back ;(

Accountability - I seem to be spiraling and eating off plan more often than not lately - I need to get a handle on this ASAP - I'm pretty PO'd actually.

2 years out - 164.1

b- coffee x 3, L&F yogurt

l- albacore tuna w/SG poppy seed dressing

d- grilled chicken breast

es - SF jello

v/l - on track

Have a good day everyone
