What's on your MONDAY Menu, RNYers?

I was wondering about that chicken pack! Good to know because I love rotisserie chicken but hate the carcass situation. Is it really just chicken breast? Cause that is even better!

It is just the breast meat! And it's SO moist and delicious - even tastier than the one on the carcass. I don't know how they do it - they must have like 100 chickens on the rotisserie 24 hours a day to have all these packs PLUS the chicken salad containers PLUS the actual chickens. But I don't know if I will ever buy the whole chicken again because this 2 lbs pack of rotisserie breast is just incredible :)

Awesome, I can't wait to pick some up! I looked for the lump crab but our store no longer carries it ;(

Good Morning! JB, I hope your meetings go well today, I hate the mental build up for yucky meetings. The weekend flew by with errands/some crafting for gifts/birthday festivities for Em.

Mornin' All!
the weekenders already know this, but for those of you who don't check OH on the weekends, my surgery was canceled! The surgeon either broke or sprained his wrist (I'm not sure which - I was lying there ready to be wheeled in to the OR on Friday morning when the news broke - I was in such shock and trying to figure out all that I needed to do that I wasn't listening as carefully as I should have). He said he could still do it if I wanted, but how was he supposed to operate with one hand? I was afraid he'd have one of his residents do it (it's a teaching hospital) while he supervised, but I didn't want that. This surgeon is pretty pricey, but I went with him anyway due to his reputation and 35 years of experience - and because he was the only surgeon I found in the Chicago area who specializes in body contouring for WLS patients. I don't have anything against residents, but I forked over a ton of money to have this particular surgeon do it - so I'd rather wait until he can do it! I'm currently sitting here waiting for a call re: rescheduling....
QOTD: last year I got my college-aged niece a copy of that book "The Millionaire Next Door". There are some other financial planning kinds of books out there targeted at young adults. I figure the sooner they start saving and learning to manage their money, the better shape they're going to be in later on in life. So that's another option other than the 1000 things to do books that someone mentioned (which I also thought was a great idea - I may get some of those for her this year!)
accountability was good yesterday. I had some popcorn at the movies, but I still came in in my target calorie range. Weight down a pound this morning (it was up a bit due to weekend restaurant eating - probably mostly from sodium)
3.5 years out:
B: Greek yogurt and raspberries
MS: coffee with half & half, protein shake
L: homemade cottage cheese or Emipie egg salad, grapes
AS: probably a bowl of high fiber cereal since we're going out to dinner later (it's very filling!!!)
D: going to a Chinese place with the family for DH's belated birthday (we were in Chicago on his birthday). We always order a few dishes and share. I'll stick to (non-fried) meat and veggies - no rice.
the nurse called right after lunch. She said if it were her, she would wait a few weeks. She doubts his hand is going to be good enough to operate this week, even though he's eager to get back to operating. But she said it would be awful to go back down there again just to have the surgery canceled (again) - so she would wait. I agree. He'll probably be back in top form in a month or so, I would think - but I'm not going to schedule anything in January...or February for that matter.. because of the weather. I think I'll wait until late March or April when the winter is (mostly) behind us. It's not that it never snows then, but when it does, it usually melts off pretty quickly. It would be just my luck if I scheduled it in January that we'd get some snowstorm of the century the day before (or day of) my surgery. No thanks...
