Aww thanks...I try to keep certain things the same day after day (like my deli meat Boar's Head Ever Roast chicken that I have had for breakfast every single day for a good year now) and now that I am back to tracking and weighing like I should have been all along, I am trying to keep standard snacks around like cottage cheese, greek yogurt for ranch dip, tuna. But I do like a warm meal at night in the winter so I do like to experiment with things like chili, chicken meatballs, shrimp cakes, crab etc. The scale is slowly moving in a downward fashion...I just want to kick myself that I really buried my head in the sand this year and had some regain. It seems so impossible when you're early out but ugh, just ugh. Maintenance sucks! LOL sorry to be a debby downer - but my advice is to stay vigilant like you are already doing :) You are doing GREAT!

How is it that I live in Massachusetts and never heard of this? And I grew up in Natick, not far from Concord! Our big celebration in Natick was the marathon which comes through the middle of town and directly at the base of my neighborhood so we watched it live every year.

Today one of the women in my walking group is having an afternoon holiday wine party. I'm bringing more of BIL's cookies to get them out of the house, though they actually haven't been what is calling me the last few days. I'm looking forward to dressing up a bit and eating my lunch/dinner from appetizer selections. I'll try to eat protein forward and though I'll certainly have way more calories than usual I don't like to be uncomfortable at a party so that always holds me in check. I may have a brunch get-together with the same group in the spring once my decorating is essentially done.

QOTD: My favorite is the Flagship cheese by Beechers, a cheese company based in Seattle. I got hooked on it when I used to travel there every 6 months on business. I hadn't had it in a few years, but was able to buy a small supply when we visited Portland OR in October. It is somewhat like a cheddar but has these little tiny crystals in it that I just love! Here is the makers description: "The first wheel of Flagship, Beecher's signature cheese, was handcrafted just as Beecher's Handmade Cheese opened its doors in Seattle's historic Pike Place Market in November of 2003. Flagship is a semi-hard cow's milk cheese with a uniquely robust, nutty flavor. It is carefully aged for 15 months to fully develop its complex flavor and ever-so-slight crumble."

2 Years 8 months post-op (maintaining below goal for 2 years)

Always lots of coffee...

B: eggs, cottage cheese and ham

L: party food

D: party food

S: homemade cottage cheese, rotisserie chicken (if needed after party)

QOTD- My absolute favorite is true Roquefort made from sheeps milk, it is so soft and creamy. Also Tillamook Extra Sharp White Cheddar, Swiss and love goats cheese the one with cranberries from Trader Joe's is great. OK I admit it I've pretty much never met a cheese I didn't like.

It's been cold and dry with lots of wind the last few days. Looking forward to a little more warmth and less wind, but it looks like the rain is on its way.

With having to take the carafate I haven't been getting all of my vitamins in. I'm trying to stick to a better schedule so I can get them all in. But getting up at 4AM just to take the carafate is a pain. I'll get it figured out.

Have a great Friday Eve everyone!
