good morning everyone!

I am feeling much better mentally today- I worked super hard yesterday to catch up and even got ahead on a lot of my work so I am much less stressed today. I even finished one of my commissioned pet portraits last night, so that is one less thing to complete before christmas! I still have several other projects but that was the one stressing me out the most. I'll post a pic at the end.

QOTD: I think my favorite gadget is honestly not going to be useful to most people who aren't artists, but I LOVE my opaque projector. I got it for Christmas about 10 years ago and I use it ALL the time. It saves me SO much time when I am doing portraits or really copying anything from a photo. It's probably a little like cheating (not that it matters- I passed art school without it LOL) but it's really just for the layout--without it, It takes me almost 10 times as long to do an initial layout and a lot of eraser marks!

I've been short on protein lately even with CAMAW, so I think I need to go back to using PP in my coffee in the mornings, I just need to go buy some!

B: Cinnabon flavored coffee w/SF italian sweet cream, greek L&F pumpkin pie yogurt
L: leftover chili w/ 1tbsp sour cream
S: 2 turkey meat sticks, light string cheese
D: making Thai Peanut pork w/sugar snap peas & carrots- gonna try with Shirataki noodles tonight and see how it goes. I may end up just eating the meat and veggies...I wasn't keen on these noodles last time but it may have been the combo with alfredo sauce my DH made, so we shall see!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Amber, this looks so realistic!! What a beauty. I should try and get a good pic of my little Luna and have you paint it. Such a gorgeous painting. How big is the portrait?

Very nice Amber, very marketable too! Pastel?

I bought an opaque projector maybe 30 years ago at Pearl Paint Company, which was my very favorite store in the entire known universe before it closed (sob!). But it really didn't work well for me at all, and I ended up taking it back. Haven't tried one since.

Thank you Cara, yes its chalk pastels...its my favorite medium for portaits and animals...it gives me the blendability of oil paint without the drying time or the layering and waiting!

I am an artist so I know what you are talking about. My Dad was an artist and designer as well and I remember him having the old school version growing up.

Hi Cynthia! You are killing it with the workouts. I am SO impressed.

Great QOTD: I have so many gadgets I can't live without. My Keurig for daily coffee. My non-stick pots and sheet pans for all cooking. My most recent kitchen addition was a $15 Marshalls find - a large cast iron pan (I have a cast iron flat pan but this one has sides). I recently made chicken thighs in a sour cream/mustard and onion sauce in it. YUM.

My menu for the day:

B: 4 oz boar's head ever roast chicken, 1 oz havarti, half and half and SF syrup in my coffee

L: I never go out to lunch (I work from home) BUT I forgot that weeks ago I offered to meet up with a former colleague...and she wants a MEXICAN restaurant. Not ideal. I have scoured their menu and even the salads are super high calorie. I will either have shrimp ceviche or maybe tacos, no tortillas. But god help me, fresh chips and salsa are pretty much like what I imagine heroin is for a drug addict...

D: Leftover tuna salad (tuna, artichokes, roasted red peppers, feta cheese, green olives, salt, pepper, olive oil)

S: Mini cucumbers, mini sweet peppers, dipped in a dip of Greek yogurt/dry ranch

E: Toning/cardio 1.5 hour class tonight

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

yes - taco innards are always a good option at a Mexican restaurant. So are fajitas if you just eat the meat & veggies - and only eat about a cup or so of that.
