Hi Jen:

It also makes me feel better (and saner) when I read that others have had similar issues to what I'm experiencing. What's even better is that they also often have great suggestions and recommendations to get through these bumps in the road!

I looked at the website of the restaurant you posted. Absolutely amazing! My mouth was watering. I lived in New York City most of my life ... you know, the city that's supposed to have everything. I have never seen a mozzarella bar there!

Morning Joyce! I am no stranger to insomnia as well. Mine tends to be I can't fall asleep at night, so for example I went to bed last night at 1:12am and got up at 5am. I know I am a night person and I hate waking up early, I get all my energy at 8pm or later. Thanks for getting us started.

I am sorry you feel you are struggling as a post op. We are all here for you. We have all had WLS and you are not alone. Although I did not have any complications post op it was months for me before I felt some semblance of normality. I struggled in the beginning to get all my protein in, get all my liquids in, figure out the vitamin schedule (and remember to take them!) and being the centre of attention with family and co workers was not my thing. I HATED that everyone felt it was okay to make comments on my weight loss!!! Funny no one pointed out how obese I was to my face yet I lose weight and suddenly I am the talk of the town! So ya its hard being a newbie. But you can do it. If I did it you can to! If you have any questions, never hesitate to ask here on the menu thread, or PM someone you feel comfortable with. We will all help as best we can. And yes I am hoping for great news about your upcoming EGD! Once you can eat a wider variety of food I think you will feel less overwhelmed.

QOTD: I am a firm December 1st kind of lady. I won't turn on my outdoor Xmas lights, put up our tree or decorate until I see Dec 1 on the calendar. We have an artificial tree (I am personally against real trees, as a nature nut I hate that 1000's of real trees are cut down to just be someone's house for a few weeks just to die). We decorated our tree in silver & navy, lots of that colour out in the stores and easy to find new balls/ornaments to add to the tree each year. I do have a few non silver/navy ornaments that are special gifts we got from family & friends and I love seeing them on the tree.

Totals: 1052 cals, 115 protein, 67 carbs

I agree with Karen, I love seeing you back! Your menu always looks so delicious and gives me great ideas - I'm running to Costco and will be getting a chicken! I do always wonder how their chickens are so massive compared to the grocery store! But man they are delicious. Do you ever buy the vacuum sealed rotisserie chicken breast meat they sell near the chickens? I haven't but I have considered it - I could use it for a few meals and then freeze it individually. The kids LOVE rotisserie chicken.

Your exercise routine is awesome, as always. Lucky Amy and Oliver getting such nice walks in! Please tell me you don't have snow yet???

Thank you Em, I am committed to be back and to help out where I can! I do love you all here!

Costco is the BOMB. I love their rotisserie chicken, so big, so delicious and so cheap! Its much cheaper than in the grocery stores! As for the packaged chicken breasts, I don't recall seeing them, but I will look for them. My problem is that a lot of pre-packaged meat, especially deli slices have potato starch and I am allergic to potatoes! Sucks right!!! But the rotisserie chicken is so versatile, we eat it as is with a veggie side or I use the meat to add in extra chicken to chicken soup, or make chicken tacos.

I do love my exercise, I am not going to lie. Now that its dark by 4:30-4:45pm and cold its hard to get my butt out of the house for evening workouts but I make myself do it and after I am always glad I did. As for the dogs, well other dog owners here can attest to this that a tired dog is a good dog. If I don't exercise my dogs daily they are like rangy 3 year olds so the exercise is good for them and good for my sanity! LOL

As for snow, we had some and it all melted. Then we got a dusting of snow yesterday and they are calling for snow this Thursday. Most of our snow comes Jan/Feb/March here, December is usually green.
