AMAW/CAMAW - results/lessons learned
Minus 1.2, though at one point it was minus 2.6. I suspect if one were to consider bathroom needs and sodium consumption, my true loss is somewhere between that. Which isn't bad considering that I really only did CAMAW 5 out of 7 days. But I'm going to stick with it any days when I don't have something going on out of the ordinary to try to sink slowly back into my former range (I'm about 4 pounds above it). It's very slow at this stage - what I would give for that first year metabolism! I've also relearned that a glass of wine isn't just empty calories, but a door to eating carbs I don't need. This week I stayed away from it even when eating out and it helped.

Great job and great attitude.
I'm only 18 months out and I'm envious of the fast loss of the first year. Can't get these darn last lbs off.

I did AMAW for 4 days and couldn't live without cottage cheese and eggs. I was 195 last Monday, now I am 193. I feel like doing this challenge was emotional for me. It has also really helped me refocus and commit myself to getting these last 30 lbs off.
Well, my friends, I sucked.
I stuck to AMAW like it was nobody's buisness. Did not cheat. Most days had no more 10-11 carbs. And guess what??
ZERO weight loss. Not even an oz. This morning the scale showed 145.6 like it was mocking me.
I try not to beat myself up. Last year at this time I would have been happy to be in the 160s and never imagined to be under 150. So I take my loss (or lack of it) with a grain of salt. I'm also backed up so I'm hoping once things get back to normal I'll see some oz taken off.
I'm so proud of all of you. Of those who did it all the way and those who stuck with it as many days as they could.
Much love

Thank you Sheila for being our Fearless Leader! I only lost 1/2 of a pound, arriving at the end weighing 135.0. I do accept though that at this point my weight loss is slow. Also, I have been fiddling with my health insurance and am briefly not covered just as my prescription for my thyroid medicine ran out (I have hypothyroidism, and take one daily pill to keep it in range), so have been without my medicine for a week or so (don't get me started on health insurance in our country). Hypothyroidism can and will interfere with one's efforts to lose weight. Anyway I lost just 1/2 a pound, but am glad for that. Onward!
You have done so great so far, Cara! You are always on the straight and narrow so you really didn't need the challenge to reset. I'm always in awe of your commitment.
