AMAW/CAMAW - results/lessons learned
How did we do CAMAW/AMAW warriors? Post your results and let's celebrate. I'm posting too early but will be back in about an hr or so with my results.
What did you learn from our challenge? Yvonne brought up a great point yesterday and I wanna piggyback on that. I learned that going into the holiday season, I can be mindful of the carbs. I don't have to partake, foodwise, at every office party or cookie exchange party. I can have fun without parking myself by the food table or sampling every tray that walks by me. A glass of water with a slice of lemon in it will make it look like I'm partying like everybody else.
I am very excited to go back to my regular programming with cheese, eggs and yogurt incorporated in my diet. Maybe I should cut back on the "amount" of cheese but today I'm giddy about having a cheese omelette for breakfast...the little pleasures in life.
For those of you who hung till the end, thanks for indulging me. For those who changed their mind, thanks for your participation and encouragement. I hope to participate in another challenge with all of you.
Let's see your success stories.

6 lost last week. I post this while sitting next to the largest bowl of candy. Everyone is complaining to me and I didn't have anything to do with it. Oddly, the complainers proceed to grab 2 pieces before walking away. I'm just ignoring the bowl. Like OP - I'm going to be very careful on vacation next week and over the rest of this month. It took me almost a month to lose my October vacation weight. I'm not doing that again! It wasn't work it at all.

Good morning! I had one cheat during AMAW on Saturday when I had a bowl of turkey chili at Panera with my cousin, but overall I stuck it out. I found it more difficult this time than last time, but I think the weather had an effect on me. I was craving cozy soups.
im down 1-1 1/2 lbs (I didn't take inches) but I'm also a bit backed up, even though I had miralax in my coffee several times this last week. So I'm hoping once that resolves, the scale will move a little more. I plan on being much more conscious of my choices and paying more attention to my holiday bites and tastes. I think this week I'm still going to keep carbs very low, but I will add non starchy veg back in for ruffage.

I can relate to the backed up situation.

ahhh...I did OK for 5 days LOL...
I struggled, by the end of Friday I was just done. DH and I both were kind of miserable and just decided it wasn't really worth it to keep doing CAMAW since we had not lost any weight at all at that point. (I did weigh myself friday morning and was at 176.5 still) and I was constantly hungry. not just "head hunger" but physically hungry and with the meat and cheese being so high calorie, I didn't want to eat more of it, so I was just crabby! so we decided to add some veggies/fruit back in over the weekend and voila, this morning I was down 2.5 lbs @ 174 lbs.
So I think I might have caused some kind of shock to kickstart my loss since I'd been hovering at the same weight for about 2 weeks.
I had 3 people call me "Skinny" over the weekend, which felt completely Bizarre to me, considering according to the BMI charts I am still technically Obese.
I am attributing it to the new jeans I bought which honestly when I first looked at them I thought "absolutely no way will I be able to squeeze ONE leg into these"...but proceeded to fit me like a glove and seemed to disguise all the things I wanted them to haha.
I'll attach a pic.
My younger sister, who has NEVER been bigger than me in our entire lives, actually asked me if she could have my fat pants now! hahaha...granted, she has 3 kids and just had a baby 2 months ago, and is also losing weight currently but it's pretty incredible to be smaller than her for once!
in conclusion, although I did not particularly enjoy my 5 days of CAMAW, it probably did help me. I am definitely glad to have my veggies and fruits back though!
