I got a call from my surgeon and my surgery was changed from the 13th of December to the 10th. So I am very happy that its earlier than I expected. I thought I was going to have the sleeve and did many hours of research, but was told that my surgeon recommended the gastric bypass due to a previous surgery that left a large amt of scar tissue. I am trying to not worry about this surgery, I would love to hear every ones experience with the bypass and some encouragement about having the Bypass. Thanks

If you search the boards you'll read many, many positive experiences with bypass. I'm nearly 4 years post op and lost 140#, and am maintaining 125# of that. No complications.

Since your switching remember to be sure of the vitamin requirements for bypas vs. vsg.

Congrats! You are well on your way to your journey. Try and find something to occupy your mind for the next few days. Remember to get up walking as soon as you are able, it will help get rid of the painful gas that can be trapped. And, SIP SIP SIP. I had no complications and joked at my week follow up appt that I didn't think the surgeon had actually done anything LOL. Best of luck and keep reading here and keep us posted.
