It's so funny - I have tried so many crab cake recipes...some with lemon, some with vinegar, with diced bell pepper, with mayo, with bread crumbs...a ton of different ones, but my favorite is simple. Crab meat, mayonnaise and Old Bay.
Some people have suggested fat-free greek yogurt but I can't bring myself to be quite that healthy and bake greek yogurt!

I always though you needed breadcrumbs to be able to pan fry so I gave up. I never thought to broil them! Leave the flavor stars and get rid of the rest - so simple and GENIUS, can't wait!

Oh yeah, I dump the entire 16 oz container of lump crab in a casserole dish, gently mix in mayo and tons of Old Bay, and broil the whole thing at once. It's really good cold for breakfast. And if you have a mini avocado to mash up and eat along with it, heaven. I have been relying on Aldi mini avocados but the last bag was brown inside. I hate that you can't tell from the squeeze if the avocado will be good. I'm worried that we are out of season. Fingers crossed I find some good ones! But the crab alone in a bowl cold for breakfast is even delicious!

Thanks for the casserole dish tip and having it cold even. I seriously have dreams about Old Bay, yum! Good luck finding good avocados!

Good afternoon,
I had an appointment this morning so I'm getting on before work. They took forever at the eye doctor. Just hope it won't snow today due to having a mammogram tonight after work.
Qotd I give to my church, my support group ministry and have given to the animal shelter. Also gave my ministry support group hand warmers for the homeless people that have to brave the cold..
B ham and cheese omelette and string cheese
L tuna and cottage cheese
D eye of round beef roast
Have a good day
Blizzard messed up my Peloton delivery so yesterday was a bit nuts. The bike arrived at 6:30 and I was goofing around on it and trying to adjust my cleats until after 9. I finally went to bed at 11:30. Made for a rude, rude awakening this morning at 3:50. Oddly enough did a spin class at the health club this morning. I'm not sure I should spin at home tonight again ;)
CAMAW day 1 went very well. So far so good today
QOTD - I do provide money to the shelter that rescued my Oreo and also to PADS a local Lake County Shelter for the homeless. This year the shelter got the match too - that was a nice surprise and the advantage of giving through my company's program. Two-fer.
PWO - .5 protein shake
B - 2 hb eggs and a sausage
S - .7 oz cheese
L - small spinach salad and 4 oz turkey (last of it)
S - .7 oz cheese
D - chicken burger and cheese
S - SF Popsicle (I consider this a frozen drink - so I believe it's legal)
HW 510 / SW 424/ GW 175 (stretch goal to get 10 under) / CW 160 (I'm near the charts ideal weight - wonder if I can stay here)

Happy Tuesday to all of my fellow RnYers!
Beth, thanks for starting the thread. I hope that Chico will feel better very soon. Good luck at the Philadelphia Orchestra with the kids! It sounds like a wonderful field trip for them. I've never lived in Philly, but my son has, and I was very impressed with the city's artistic heritage, and it's ongoing commitment to such things. It makes a difference!
I'm up .5 of a pound today, to 136.2, probably because I had too much cheese yesterday, and my calories were higher by almost 50, as well. But carbs were low and protein decent. I'm reconsidering switching CAMAW for AMAW, but have already had some cheese today, so if I do it wouldn't be until tomorrow at the earliest. It would probably do me good - I really like these gourmet cheeses I've been indulging in, but it's super easy to tip over from an okay quantity into simply too much. I have zero desire for sugar, though i routinely add zero calorie, zero carb syrups to my tea and coffee - soooo delish! Plus doing so allows me to not use cashew milk, which is a caloric savings since I drink mug after mug of tea all day long. However, like Sheila, I definitely enjoy my cheese! It's unfortunate that something so good is also so caloric, but it is reality, and for me, the low fat varieties just aren't the same; they are far less satisfying taste-wise, and make me feel less full as well, so I figure, why bother? As I write this homage to cheese, it has become clear to me I've become too into it, and need to cut back significantly. Cheese, like other foods, should be just wholesome fuel, not some sort of poetic inspiration!
Just a few more pounds to go to maintenance!
QOTD: I give throughout the year as I am able. Today I will donate to the local food bank, and to the local Goodwill. I hope I will be able to make a donation to Smiletrain this season.
first: tea tea tea!
B: ham, cheeseha
L: tuna
D: eggs
Wishing you all a good day, my friends! I love and am grateful for you all.
You and me paint a pathetic picture drooling over cheese!!
Somebody at Thanksgiving gave me cheese that has jalapeño and some other hot spice in it. Holy moly, it is soooooo good, I tasted it on Thanksgiving. So I just open my fridge, look at it and sigh!
