Good morning Menu Friends -we are supposed to get 6-12 inches of snow today, my oldest son called me at work and asked to borrow my truck to travel to college. I let him borrow it and am now hoping he heeds my advice and drives slow, 4 wheel drive does not guarantee ..he is still too young to appreciate that.
I had a great night at the gym last night, I did 9 miles on the Elliptical and then did Biceps. Fel real good today. I am hoping it clears up enough for me to be able to go tot he gym this evening after work.
QOTD - I try and give back in many ways, at Christmas my wife and I always give to at least 3-4 children in need, we will also donate Turkeys and or Hams to the Salvation army as they do a meal on Christmas day. We also donate used clothing to St Marys Mission and the Salvation Army store. Recently we have seen a homeless person asking for food or money at the exit of the local walmart plaza, I will donate food as I know he will eat the food.

Mike, I agree with giving actual food rather than $$. There are so many panhandlers around my office and if you watch, many of them aren't actually disabled or homeless as they claim. I want to help but I really shy away from just giving someone money. We have a local newspaper written and sold by homeless folks. I do make sure that whenever I see someone selling it that I buy a copy.

G'mornibg all!
Survived day 1 of AMAW. I really think it's more in my head than a physical need. Yesterday at the grocery store I stood by the gourmet cheese section and just drooled. I was laughing because in the past I used to do that with the cookies and chocolate bars. Now I do it with cheese. I guess I just replaced my addiction with something healthier. So this week is good to kick the cheese habit to the curb...at least for a while.
QOTD: we always donated money and goods. Last year our high school, science and math depts were in trouble and cash strapped. DH being a master geek swooped in, always happy to help with science and math. Of course very irritated that most of the donations are for the athletic dept. Like we needed another football field!!!
Accountability: 100% on AMAW
Tons of coffee/tea during the day
B: turkey patty
L: pulled pork
S: epic chicken
D: chicken breast
Have a great Tuesday!

They are good for on the run. Most protein bars are full of carbs. This one has barely 2 carbs for the whole bar. I know Julia (JuniperBerry) didn't like them but because it's spicy with sriracha sauce I really like it.
