What's on your Tuesday menu RNYers?
Mornin'!
my catsitter is coming over in about an hour to get the lay of the land. Second stage of PS is at the end of next week, so we'll be out of town for a few days - it's getting real!! Other than that, not much on the agenda today, other than a general, open-to-the-public meeting for an organization that we're thinking of getting involved with.
stayed 100% on my plan yesterday (more a "back to basics" than CAMAW, although I managed to keep my carbs under 80, which is great for me!!). I felt hugely bloated this morning due to all the sodium yesterday (chicken sausages, cheese stick, turkey sticks, gumbo), but oddly, I was down 1.4 lbs. YAY!! Hope this keeps up!!!
QOTD: we've given to several charities over the years (and our whole estate is going to charities after we die), but the ones we give to every year are our local NPR affiliate and the vet school here at the university.
3 years 5 months out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt, blueberries
MS: coffee with half & half, protein shake
L: 2-3 oz of turkey with gravy, vegetables
AS: Carbmaster yogurt
D: either more turkey or gumbo
What PS did you end up deciding to have this time?
HW: 248+, SW (RNY: 2/28/17): 244, GW (10/17): 125; LW: 115; 45# regain (19-20); CW: 135.6; new goal: 135; Plastics: Ext mastopexy, Ext abdominoplasty-5/18/2018; diagnosed w/ gastroparesis 11/20.
breast lift, arm lift, and an extended flankplasty (he's going to do an incision on either side starting at my armpit - how far down he goes depends on the patient - usually to the waist, but occasionally to the hip. He thought it'd give me a better result than the FDL - plus it'll pull some excess skin off my back that the FDL would not.

Yesterday I was reading about a procedure called a "corset trunkplasty which sounded kind of interesting. The incisions are shaped like a capital "i", and this pulls skin together in the front of the body between breasts and pubic bone towards the midline to give a sculpted look. The serifs on the top and bottom of the capital I incisions can be extended partially towards the back, to pull in any excess skin from that area, as well.
that sounds sort of similar to an FDL (fleur de lis) - although an FDL doesn't have the serifs on either end. It's usually just a vertical incision from the pubic bone to the bottom of the sternum, and it's done in addition to a standard LBL. I've learned after reading up on this stuff that some of the terms surgeons used aren't really standardized. Well, some are - like belt lipectomy, brachioplasty - but some aren't. I was trying to find stuff about flankplasties, but it doesn't sound like all surgeons are describing the same thing. I read that Dr. Capella in New Jersey does what sounds like the same thing as my PS does because he (Dr. Capella) doesn't like doing FDL's (some surgeons don't because of the scarring people are left with). My surgeon WILL do FDL's, but he thought I'd benefit more from this extended side flank thing.
hi all- a little late posting today
weight is back up- think too much salt the last week! and the stuffing on thanksgiving didn't help im sure. here comes the water today.
I'm having to leave today at 4 so I can take itty bitty back to the vet for a checkup- he is in heart failure an we had to put him on more meds to get him out of it. He is doing much better but was struggling to breathe as he had fluid on his heart.
Food for today
Coffee

not sure on dinner but bought some turkey meatballs.
QOTD: I donate stuff but do not have a preferred charity.
