Which fruit juices are ok to have following an RNY?

I'm wondering which fruit juices are preferred following an RNY? I'm struggling with artificial sweeteners, so just wondering if anyone has discovered any that aren't too high in sugar. TIA

I don't think there's a meaningful difference between fruit juices when it comes to liquid calories and sugar -- they are all too high and I wouldn't recommend them.

I would always check with your NUT or Bariatric team before anything else... Syntrax has a couple flavors that are good with water that suffice the "juice" urge for me... they have an apple, lemonade and a couple others like iced tea that are good... Strawberry, Grape and Cherry are good too and they have protein so I an still getting my numbers in if I think I am drinking juice.

Don't drink calories, ever. It's the surest way to gain weight. You can drink calories all day long, even with an RNY.

The same serving size of orange juice actually has more calories than full sugar Coke or Pepsi.

Better to use SF water additives like Crystal Light to satisfy juice cravings. Most juice has too much sugar and may cause dumping syndrome...best not to experiment to see if you've won (or lost?) the dumping syndrome lottery.

Juice does not cause dumping syndrome per se. If you're one of the few (~30%) RNY patients that are susceptible to dumping when you consume sugar then you'll have to determine your triggers, which may (or may not) include juice or other sugar laden beverages.

Juice does cause dumping for me, which is why I said "May cause." But it is weird and everyone has different triggers or even thresholds. I have eaten a cookie just fine, but any sugar in liquid or semi-liquid form makes me wish I were dead.

Hence the word "may." :)

Better to eat a piece of fruit then to drink juice. I also believe artificial sweeteners are not a healthy alternative and stay far away from them as possible. Instead, I love drinking real fruit-infused water.

As others have said, juice is not really a viable alternative. If you need something sweet, you might have to try a few different sweeteners until you find something that clicks. I've heard good things about monkfruit-derived sweeteners and my husband has a lady at work that really likes the one marketed as Swerve.
