I'm friends with her on FB - she posts frequently there and seems her usual self. Not sure why she isn't on here - I will reach out to her today.

oh thanks. I've been wondering about her, too. I sent her a PM through OH a couple of days ago, but she hasn't responded yet. I have her address around here somewhere, so Plan B was to write her a letter! I didn't realize she was on FB - let us know what you find out!
P.S. I just saw her FB profile and sent her a friend request. Didn't know she was on there!

She responded to my message, it made her cry! She is very busy trying to keep up w/everything, plugging away and doing the best she can (she is quite overwhelmed) but really misses OH. She said the days just get away from her. She also feels she only ever has bad news... I told her good bad or ugly we are all here to support her.
ETA - I will post this message again tomorrow for all to see

morning everyone,
quick post from me this morning, kinda late but its crazy after the holiday weekend and traffic was a NIGHTMARE this morning, we had a huge snowstorm overnight with about 13 inches of snow in my area so needless to say even though I left 30 mins early this morning, it took me 20 to clean off my car (no garage) and I was still 30 mins late to work. UGH.
QOTD: I'll browse the sales online today but not sure if I'll buy much. I don't really have my eye on anything in particular so it all depends if I see something DH or Story might want at a good price.
I did order the Ancestry kit for DH on the half price sale on black friday though. He has no idea what his Bio mother's heritage is really besides "mostly irish" and I think it will be so cool to find out, especially for Story's sake!
I am doing CAMAW this week and got DH on board too!
B: HB egg w/1/4C cottage cheese and small chicken BF sausage link, coffee w/half&half
L: tuna packet, 1/4c cottage cheese mixed in
S: 2 turkey meat sticks
D: 3-4 oz leftover turkey from thanksgiving
have a fantastic day everyone!

Good afternoon, I only live about 30 miles from Amber and we got 4 inches less snow. Nevertheless, school was cancelled and we lost our power for a bit last night. I am working from home today partly because of the weather and partly because I am back on crutches again. Now it is my right knee that is giving me trouble. I think that three weeks of limping around because of my left knee put too much strain on it. In any case its a good day to stay home and comfortable.
QOTD: My wife's parents were out for the holiday and they did quite a bit of shopping, so I think that they are alll shopped out.
Breakfast: Turkey meatballs, cottage cheese
Lunch: Turkey and squash
Snack: Light and fit
Dinner: Chili
Good luck to all of the AMAW/CAMAW participants!

Monday greetings to my fellow RnYers!
Thank you, Beth, for launching us this morning, and congratulations on breaking your stall! Perseverance is (just about) everything in dieting, and in life in general!
Overcast, misty, and dark up here on the island today; a storm is rolling in. It's still morning, but looks like it's approaching twilight. This will be the first winter I've experienced in the PNW. I've heard of some relocated Californians who just couldn't take the grey, and *****turned to the sunshine after a winter or two. They found the dark atmosphere to be profoundly grim and depressing. I suspect I'll be just fine, though I'll probably have to up my Vitamin D. Plus, many days should still be crystalline bright and clear. Still, it's notably odd to have it seem so dark, so early.
135.6 again for the 3rd day in a row.
Thanks Sheila for shepherding us into AMAW/CAMAW! To be honest, CAMAW is no stretch for me at all, since it's how I eat almost always anyway. I could do full AMAW, but this time I think I'm just going to take it easy and stick with allowing myself some cheese. No cashew milk in my tea and coffee, though! Good luck to all of our AMAW/CAMAW warriors and Valkyries!
QOTD: I didn't buy much of anything over this big sale period other than ordering some NYDJ jeans and leggings. I hope they look amazing on - size four (!!!) according to their chart - fingers crossed! They say to go by your waist measurement and then to order the next size down. Obviously, this is a particularly blatant example of vanity sizing, but even knowing that's so, you can't help but feel pleased, especially after having descended from the upper limits of plus sizing.
I was adding some protein powder to my morning tea over the past couple of days, which really helped up my protein, but I still wanted another 100 calories of dense protein later in the day, so it wasn't helpful calorically. Once I'm in maintenance and eating at a higher caloric level, I can incorporate that.
First: 57 ounces of delicious tea!
B: tuna
L: ham, Sartori Bellavitano black pepper cheese
D: eggs with a tiny bit of cheese
S: more protein
Sending love to every one of you. Be happy today!
I'm a 3rd generation Oregonian and the darkness and grey days really bother me. I do have SAD and have tried a full spectrum light and it does seem to help some. But I dread when winter comes, I can almost feel it lurking out there and know it is up to no good. I have historically low vitamin D levels and even with supplements it hasn't seemed to help. I can do my labs after 12/4 so I'll see if it's changed any after my RNY. Good luck on surviving the winter! About this time of year Maui calls my name, I just can't afford it this year.
