Good morning! We cut our vacation a little short and came home yesterday instead of today, as we would have been driving through blizzard conditions on our way home had we waited. It was a fun trip, Thursday was mostly just hanging with the family, and we all went to a park in Broken Arrow where they lit up over 2 million Christmas lights. Friday we did a little Black Friday shopping with DH's aunt (DH scored a 55 inch 4K smart TV), and she took us around to see some of the sights. Yesterday we went on a 4 mile hike on Turkey Mountain before having lunch and heading home. I took a pretty bad fall as the trail had lots of rocks and tree roots and it was all covered by fallen leaves so I couldn't see all of it. My right knee is stiff and bruised and my back hurts. I stopped at a pecan farm for some fresh pecans, that I smacked on in the car. We got home around 10:30 last night. I was exhausted but DH had to immediately set up the TV and ended up falling asleep on the couch. Boys and their toys!

i need to get groceries but the weather is iffy--it rained and then snowed and now it's super windy. Not sure I want to venture out but we're out of milk.

meals today will be light as there was over indulging on vacation. I haven't even weighed yet because I'm scared of the scale this morning. I really should though, just so I know what kind of damage I might have to work on.

Breakfast: coffee, Black, because we have no milk

lunch: tuna salad

dinner: I might throw together a hamburger vegetable soup, I think I have enough ingredients to patch something together

I meant to attach these--I forgot to mention that we stopped at the Little House on the Prairie Museum near Independence, KS on our way home. I didn't realize the museum was so close to our route and I'm a huge Laura Ingalls Fan! The buildings were closed for the season so we couldn't go inside

Great pics Cassie! I'd love to go to see Laura Ingalls Wilders place too. I am guessing it is only open in the summer?

I assume so, or at least only through the warmer months of fall. The only thing at this particular museum that was truely built by Pa Ingalls was the well, so this is the actual location where the original Little House would have been, but the rest was lost to time. The cabin pictured is another little house built around the same time in the area that they moved to the property. They also had a little schoolhouse and a post office, all real and brought to the property, but only "this is a school similar to one Laura would have gone to" kind of thing.

There are larger Laura Ingalls museums in Mansfield, MO and DeSmet, SD that have more of her and her family's actual things, such as Pa's fiddle, Laura and Almanzo's wedding dishes, etc

Good morning and happy Sunday-funday! Well not sure about fun, but the nesting/cleaning continues. I know most people go on a cleaning streak in the spring, mine is always before Christmas. I'm having a fun with my Dyson! I can't believe the hair and especially fine dirt I am getting up - tons and tons it's crazy. Our house also backs up to strawberry fields that go on for miles. The wind blows our way off the fields, virtually nonstop and with it so much dirt. It drives me crazy that our house is always dusty. We finally got a dogie door instead of leaving the door open 24/7 so this will help cut down on the wind/dirt in the house. I installed it yesterday. It's made such a difference already, but I can't get the dogs to go through the flap! I taped it open and we'll work on them today with treats for incentive!

QOTD - If you decorate for the holidays, when do you start? Before Thanksgiving? On thanksgiving? When you get around to it? I can't start until my house is clean and I've rearranged the furniture to accommodate the tree, then its a go!! So, probably next weekend with the decorations. Although Rob has already put up the outside lights!

ETA - TrishQOTD - I used to want to move to Seattle or NYC/Manhattan - money being no object, lol... but anymore I realize that I'm a homebody who loves peace and quiet and big city life just isn't for me. I would hate have a real winter again too! Honestly, I love where we live but love to have a house on the water/coast!

Accountability - great w/extra jello and yogurt, but on plan

2 years out - geez 159.9

B-coffee, protein pancake

l-turkey salad

d- steak!

v/l on track

e- cleaning

Havea wonderful day!

Good morning everyone! I want to go get our tree today, but we shall see. I want to go to the tree farm, but the family prefers the woods. It's going to be dry today.

I did okay on food yesterday. I am going to do AMAW starting tomorrow. I am going to miss my cottage cheese and eggs though. I think it's odd that eggs aren't considered meat, because technically an egg is a chicken that hasn't developed.

Food for today-

2 c. black coffee with Miralax

2 medium eggs, 2 oz rosemary ham, 1 slice onion, 1 jalapeno, 1 T. shredded parmesan cheese

1 can albacore tuna with 2 T. SG poppyseed dressing

4 oz grilled chicken breast

2.25 oz Naked jerky

780 cal, 9 carbs, 135 protein, Is that too much protein to eat??

Also, how often does everyone weigh themselves? My adult daughter and I were discussing this yesterday. She never weighs herself. She thinks it's unhealthy that I weigh daily. I think she is right. It really messes with my head. I am going to weigh once a week.

I weigh everyday. I need to know - good bad or ugly, It keeps me honest and more likely to stay (or get back) on track. I get that it can mess with you also- it was like that all the time when I was 300+ and used it as a measure of my worth instead of just my health.

I weigh every morning, before tea or coffee. This practice has been very helpful to me. Previously, I would fear stepping on the scale following overindulgence, as if not confronting the reality of my weight made it less real. But I have found that braving the scale every single day no matter what is a powerful tool for me - no matter how much I may have gained, it remains just one day of gain, which can never be so significant that it cannot be reversed in short order. Weighing every day does require a certain Zen attitude, however; if you don't view what the scale reveals with a certain degree of equanimity (followed by direct corrective action, if necessary), you risk becoming obsessive. Our weights will often reflect small rises and small dips, even in maintenance, due in some cases to factors other than intake. But IMO it's better to know than not, because one day of gain can never be so big a deal that it cannot be quickly surmounted.
