Hi everyone! I was up early and got my run done. Today I found a huge some of money on my run-- nearly $1000, but it is all counterfeit. :-( I was immediately suspicious of the texture of the paper, hubby confirmed is funny money. Oh well, I'm no more or less rich or poor than I was yesterday. I already grocery shopped and have no other plans for the weekend. My nose is running and I'm sneezing like crazy-- exercise induced rhinitis is a *****

qotd: I keep a flashlight (batteries are probably dead), foldable chairs, snow brush, cocycx pillow, tissues, tweezers and sunglasses in my car.

216 today, 3.6 years out

m1: egg, ham, cheese stick

m2: turkey, stuffing, yams and gravy

m3: my first instant pot try!! Pot roast.

Wow! Too bad it wasn't real money, in a brown paper bag with no i.d. whatsoever. If I found that I might keep it, but it it was in a purse or wallet i wouldn't be able to. I would be too aware that someone had lost it and that the loss might mean that they couldn't feed their family, or pay their rent or mortgage; I would have to make an effort to return it to its owner. But finding an unmarked brown paper bag full of cash would feel more like something iffy and likely nefarious had been involved, and I would have less compunction about claiming it as a gift from above!

It wasn't a wallet- if it was I'd have returned it. In fact I've retuned quiet a few wallets I've found over the years. This was actually in a plastic bag. I guess whoever had it figured it was usually because it was intwined with other junk.

It is interesting. Most printers today, I believe, have some sort of safeguard in place which detects and disables the printing of currency. I made some labels a few years ago incorporating a portion of the design of a large bill, and recall encountering rules about what is and what is not allowed.

I assumed it was in a bag or just dumped. I definitely know you would have returned a wallet! Still, a strange thing to find!

Good morning, my RnY kindred! Happy Saturday!

Down a half pound this a.m. to 135.6!

Going through my clothes again today to cull items which have become unflatteringly large. This includes many of my skirts. I will be able to take in the simpler ones by just running new seams, but some require a level of ability well beyond my ken as a seamstress. This includes at least a couple of brand new ones that I bought (because they were just so pretty) as weight-loss incentives when I was heavier. Most of my old sweaters still are wearable, though blouses and other tops are too big, as are some, but not all, of my dresses. At least all of my shoes and boots fit! Unlike many of you experienced, my shoe size has remained constant, although when I was at my heaviest I had stopped wearing heels except when absolutely necessary, and my calves had outgrown the shafts of all of my boots.

I'm actually looking forward to purging my closet, as it will be much nicer to have only wearable clothes hanging, and I'll actually be able to see what I have - it's very crowded still in there now. Maybe I'll even be able to fit everything in just one closet when I'm done! Anyway, what a good problem to have: the need to buy new clothes because you're too svelte for your old ones. The only downside is the expense!

I didn't get much exercise in yesterday as it was pouring and hailing, and I spent hours creeping in traffic, barely able to see. (As an aside, Waze really did a good job of rerouting me around the worst traffic snarl-ups whenever possible.) When I finally got home the skies were clearing and milder, but I just wanted to cocoon with mugs of hot tea! I did my inside routine, though. Today I will walk around the lake.

QOTD: A couple of big towels for when I take my neighbor's dog with me, battery cables, snow chains, microfiber cloths, a fleece blanket, a flashlight, reuseable grocery bags, a cell phone charger.

First: several big mugs of tea! I bought a ton of zero cal, zero carb Jordan's syrups, and am enjoying trying new flavors out. One of my mugs will have some Vanilla Bean Torte protein powder mixed in. I haven't used much protein powder at all in a long while, but I am trying to up my protein a bit, and this is an easy, low-cal way to do that.

B: ham and cheddar

L: turkey

D: eggs

Have yourselves a wonderful, healthy and enjoyable Saturday, my friends!

Cara, you may not thank me for this, but do you know the online clothing store Unique Vintage? I suspect you might love it, if you checked them out!

Thank you Jen! I wasn't aware of that site. Those velvet holiday dresses are gorgeous in both figure-flattering cut and sumptuous color! As I was working on clearing my closets today, I tried on a few outfits to see what I might wear for Christmas, and velvet featured prominently, whether on top, on the bottom, or both! I may just have to order one of those lovely and glamorous dresses! Thank you for the tip, your instinct about what I like was spot on!

Here's another pretty thing I have my eye on, of similar old Hollywood style. I just haven't yet decided which color to get:

Hi everyone - happy Saturday! Late stop in for me, hope everyone is having a fun/productive/relaxing day.

I have been having lots of trouble sleeping so last night I took a dose of Zquil -- within a short amount of time, I knew something was very not right. Turns out zquil's inactive ingredients are high fructose corn syrup -- apparently that's what the liquid is. I didn't get much sleep because I felt so bad and today I'm shakey, a bit like a hangover without any of the fun the night before!

i did get out and run my errands for the day, and for tomorrow too so I can relax tomorrow (outside of packing for my Monday to Friday trip to Clearwater for work).

Qotd - a hoodie for when I forget to take one to the airport, a small cooler in case I stop for groceries on the way home, and that's usually it!

Not sure what I'll be eating today, I've had tea and coffee and some yogurt but I'm still pretty queasy so going to focus on staying hydrated mostly.

have a great day!
