What's on your Thanksgiving Day menu, RNYers,?
Happy Thanksgiving! It apparently is 18 on Cape a Cod, but almost 65 now here in Florida. I kind of like these warm Thanksgivings (this is our third here).
QOTD: My most favorite food is probably the pie, but it has to be really good to be worth it. We are going out to a restaurant so we will see... My second favorite is the turkey. I like stuffing but can pass on it as well as most everything else other than small tastes. Thanksgiving is not a dangerous day for me. Christmas parties with goodies to nibble on are a different story.
Accountability: Pretty good yesterday. We will see what today brings, but I don't beat myself up about special occasions.
2 Years 7.5 months post-op (maintaining below goal for 23.5 months)
Always lots of coffee...
B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: chicken and cottage cheese (maybe - will be more like snack size as we are eating dinner in the afternoon)
D: turkey, etc.
S: pie?

Warm Thanksgiving greetings to all of my RnY pals!
I am so happy and thankful to be once again living close to my son, with whom I will spend the day! Over the past several years, I spent a few Thanksgivings and Christmases alone. While it did get easier (the first time is rough), it's never truly easy, and it was hard not to feel lonesome. I am glad that that chapter of my life has closed.
Yesterday evening at the entrance to the grocery store, instead of a fall display of pumpkins, gourds, and the like, I was greeted by a fragrant, frosty little forest of fresh Christmas trees and festive wreaths. It was beautiful!
QOTD: Though I'm only supplying a cheese and olive plate (and a box of truffles) for Thanksgiving this year, I think my favorite thing is my mom's cranberry and orange relish. Whole cranberries are ground with fresh oranges, to which mixture a little sugar is added. It's an incredibly delicious and intensely alive taste - one of those foods that seems to have such a level of vitality that all of your cells sing hallelujah! But I didn't make it this year as I am eschewing sugar. I will try to make some next year using stevia. It doesn't take much sugar and it's just a condiment, so I wouldn't eat much, but I am still terrified of dumping, and haven't tested that border yet.
I weighed in yesterday again at 136.2. I haven't yet weighed today (posting in bed still!), but I have to say it surprised me how much I am enjoying being in the 130's! I'd thought it would be too thin for me to shoot for at my age, but instead, I just feel svelte and good, and more myself. I look bony, but I did at 150, too, and overall feel bouncier here. I'm glad I kept going!
First: Several big mugs of tea!
B: eggs
L: cheese, turkey, whatever non-starchy veggies will be there, gravy, and probably a glass of wine or champagne
Wishing all of my OH family all of the warm and loving blessings of the day! Happy Thanksgiving, my friends!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!! I've been up for a while- started at the gym then got a wild hair to clean the bathroom and kitchen- including mopping (which I detest doing). Place looks great-- I'll run the vacuum in a little bit.
We're home today- just the four of us. I'll cook and we'll hit the stores around 6pm. I already order a new pair of sneakers so far-- they will be what I wear for my Disney 1/2 in February. I took off tomorrow- no plans so far, we'll Likely put up the Christmas Tree.
Qotd: my favorite food in thanksgiving is rice & peas (Jamaican). I don't make it much any more since I don't eat rice-- I usually pick one of the big holidays to enjoy it. Not on the menu today though. My stand alone favorite in the menu today is my sweet potato pie (drool). Anything else I like because it coupled with something else.

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving!! So thankful for all of you and your support these past couple of years. It rained all night and now it's sunny and smells so fresh and crisp outside! Rob LOVED Harry Potter last night and wants to watch the next one and go to Universal Studios now, haha! He built a fire and we were so cozy and warm while it rained. I love the smell of wood burning. Enjoying my slow morning before I need to get going on the Turkey. I love to cook, it is so calming for me I enjoy every second. Later we are going to my sisters for pie. Looking forward to that as well.
QOTD - Stuffing is my favorite dish, I LOVE my mom's recipe and I am making that today! My second is good ole green bean casserole. I didn't grow up eating this, my mom wouldn't have it on her table! I had it for the first time in my 30's and fell in love-gotta have it now. Not a fan of cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, yams or pumpkin pie, I'm weird - I know.
Accountability - great
2yrs out - 152.8
B-coffee x 3 - yogurt or eggs - maybe
L/D-Thanksgiving dinner - going to enjoy some stuffing and green bean casserole today - but only after the turkey so I won't be able to eat much
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

What a sweet boy!
I was up early today, started work around 6AM, just trying to get in my 8 so I can enjoy a hopefully good dinner with my Mom.
My weight has finally moved down, but I'm still up a pound from about a week ago. I've added more water and I already did 30+ minutes on the treadmill. I was thinking of walking outside but then the rains came, and it looks like about 5PM out there it is so dark, and its not even noon yet.
QOTD- Mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie, but neither are on the menu for today.
I have managed to make a good custard that I add pumpkin and spices to and it tastes like pumpkin pie, but without the guilt and calories. I will try to make it today.
I was amazed that I could do so much on the treadmill without feeling like I wasn't going to survive. Plus my workout pants are too big, as well as the t-shirt that was on the door. Also the sports bra, it used to feel like I couldn't breathe it was so tight and today on the smallest hooks it was too big. Great feeling! So all of those clothes are destined for the next bag to Goodwill.
I am thankful that I found this forum and for all of the kind and supportive people on here. Thank you all!

Him and my daughter are out Black Friday shopping but my husband and I will meet them up there to check him onto the charter busses to the airport.
QOTD: probably pumpkin pie, which we didn't have but I made a sugar free pumpkin crisp I found o. Instagram. It was pretty good too.
Next week will be one year post op. I can't bekiece it's been a year already
Breakfast: a piece of sausage and 2 tablespoons of eggs. (They sorta make me nauseous since my surgery so I have to tread lightly with them)
lunch: premier shake
dinner: turkey, a bite of stuffing and a bite of mashed potatoes.
Snack: a bit of the pumpkin crisp.
I hope everyone had a great day with family and friends.
