What's on your Thanksgiving Day menu, RNYers,?
Good morning all:
I would like to wish everyone and their families a very Happy Thanksgiving! I am so thankful I found this wonderful, supportive, and helpful group of people so early in my WLS journey!!
I guess I'm probably one of the few people up this early in the morning on a holiday. Although it's because of insomnia, I really don't mind being up so early. It's very still and quiet. It ends up being a very special "me time" and helps me get relaxed and centered for the day ahead.
Brrrr! It's extremely cold and we had another light snowfall last night. Jake and I went out at 5 am for our morning walk. He had his LED light on his collar and I had a flashlight in my hand. It's just so dark in the morning. But, it was a very peaceful walk and I really enjoyed it.
QOTD: What is your favorite food on Thanksgiving? I love homemade cranberry sauce made with orange juice instead of water. This year I had to adjust the recipe a little because there is usually so much sugar in it. I hope it tastes as good as usual!
MEALS FOR TODAY:
Breakfast: 8 oz nonfat milk, sugar free chocolate syrup, protein powder
Snack: 2 oz sharp, low-fat cheddar cheese
Dinner: What else? 4 oz turkey breast, 2 tbsp cranberry sauce
Snack: 8 oz nonfat milk, sugar free chocolate syrup, protein powder
Once again, Jake and I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for getting us started this morning!
Thankful today for so many things but the biggest is my weight loss and how I feel now. I can do so many things now that a body 91 pounds heavier couldn't. I ran 2.5 yesterday on the treadmill and that was huge for me. I am just thankful for the opportunity to have wls, this board to gain information and support, and people who have gone through this before me. Thank you for accepting me and letting me be a part of this amazing group.
I made a gluten-free, sugar-free pumpkin pie yesterday. When I tasted the batter it was pretty good and no artificial sweetener because it is sweetened with dates. I should have soaked the dates longer but for the first one, I think I did pretty good. I posted a picture of it below. It's not baked (no eggs) but frozen instead that is why the glass dish looks frosty.
10 months (almost 11 yikes!)
M1: PP chocolate shake and my vitamins
M2: scrambled egg and 2 oz. of leftover ham from MILs dinner last night
M3: not sure if I will need one
M4: turkey, any vegetable that is not laden with fat or a creamy soup, and a sliver of my pumpkin pie
You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

Good morning! Happy Thanksgiving. I am very thankful for this board and the wonderful people on it.
Today is my 2-year surgiversary. I am sitting here drinking my coffee and listening to the rain. I am feeling a bit emotional this morning. What an adventure this surgery has been. I am not at goal. I have struggled this past year with losing and gaining the same 10 lbs. It has become so much harder to lose. I will get there though.
QOTD- cranberry sauce! I am going to experiment and make a small batch with stevia.
Food plan for today-
2 eggs with cottage cheese
cheese, spinach dip
turkey, brussel sprouts, cranberry sauce
My goal is to eat as protein forward as possible today, but I know my carbs/calories will be higher than normal.
Have a great day! I know I am looking forward to mine and being surrounded by the people I love.

It is a very emotional journey. Don't stress about your goal weight--you will get there in due time. Just think about the next choice and make it a good one that heads you in the direction you want to life. Life is a constant struggle and so is our weight loss story. I'm six years out and somedays I just don't want to make the good choice anymore. Then I look at my before and after pics and the right choice becomes so much easier. Pics to follow
Happy surgiversary! Enjoy your Thanksgiving with those you love!
