Mornin' All!

Boy do I feel bloated this morning - but I'm not sure why. I guess I had too much sodium yesterday (??). Lots of water today should fix it if that's the case.

class this morning, then meeting some friends for lunch. Appt with my financial guy this afternoon. In between, more errands. It never ends. I'm going to try to start prepping for Thanksgiving tonight so tomorrow and Thursday aren't so crazy.

QOTD: I generally avoid fast food, but if I'm on the road without many options I'll stop at McDonald's and get an Egg McMuffin, even for dinner (in fact, it makes a decent dinner - 300 kcal, lots of protein, very filling - and about the right size for me). Otherwise, Panera Bread (I guess technically not "fast food") - although I go there occasionally even if I'm not on the road. I get the cup of turkey chili or black bean soup - sometimes by themselves and sometimes with one of the lower-calorie "you pick 2" salads.

3 years 5 months out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt with raspberries

MS: coffee with half & half, protein shake

L: I think a cup of chili - maybe with a side salad (I'll be at a restaurant)

AS: baby carrots & hummus

D: leftover taco from yesterday's lunch

G'morning all!

Last day of work. Talked to DD yesterday, so weird not having her home for thanksgiving. She said she doesn't even realize she is missing it because nobody celebrates it in Europe. So I guess it's mostly us missing her, she is off having fun. She is actually going to Amsterdam again for the weekend because her BF is going from DC to meet her there.

We have a good group going for AMAW/CAMAW I'll post on Sun as a reminder then we'll start on Mon. There will also be reminders on the menu thread as usual.

QOTD: Chipotle, I make my own bowl with no rice no beans, fajita veggies and meat with a little bit of cheese. Or at in-n-out I order protein style. There is also whichwich where you can order anything lettuce wrap. No idea if these chains - except for Chipotle - are outside CA.

B: protein coffee (this is what I'll miss when I do AMAW)

L: cauliflower rice & scrambled egg (my version of Chinese fried rice)

S: parm cheese

D: pulled pork

Have a great Tue everyone.

morning everyone!

I had a super good dream last night that just made my morning pleasant and I feel like it is setting the mood for the rest of the day so YAY for happy dreams!

I have my 9 month post op checkup today with my surgeon after work. I am actually kind of excited to see what he says about my progress. I feel proud of myself. He never gave me a "goal" weight so I am going to ask what he thinks today. I made my own goal at 155 before but I would love to be in the "normal" range for BMI...which would be closer to 145 or lower...not sure if I will be able to get there without skin removal. I am sure I have at least 15 lbs of it and it's starting to really bother me when I look in the mirror without clothes on.

QOTD: usually I go for a Chipotle burrito bowl, no rice, extra meat w/cheese, veggies and guac -I do add black beans which are higher in carbs but I always tend to fall short on protein so I like that boost. it usually lasts me 3 meals. I like the chic-fil-a naked nuggets too but I feel like they are so overpriced.

B: coffee w/SF creamer , l&f greek yogurt
L: white chicken chili (this is the last of it)
S: string cheese & small apple
D: chicken crust pizza

Good morning~ It's hump day of this short week, yay! One reason I love Thanksgiving and that I don't travel is that the holiday is on Thursday and that leaves a solid 3 day weekend! I have lots of house projects planned. We are installing a new dogie door, breaking in my new Dyson (wee!) and other fun yet practical things like fresh caulking the bathrooms, lol. I love this kind of stuff. I'm also working on getting all my sons Marine Corps photos and my wedding photos printed and framed -finally. I can't wait!

QOTD - I am not a fan of fast food - but I like a decent burger. In-n-out protein style burger or The Habit lettuce wrapped burger are my go-to's. I tried Chick-fil-a once and thought it was awful.

Accountability - this evening extra calorie business has got to stop... Last night I had some 85% dark chocolate squares, cheese and peanut butter but was down a pound+ this am?

23 mo out - 152.3

b-coffee x 2, L&F Greek yogurt

l-albacore tuna w/SG balsamic dressing

d-leftover BBQ chicken or eggs w/cheese

es - SF jello

v/l on track

e-not today - too much to do!

Have a great day all!

Hey you guys! Waving hi from the island this sunny Tuesday!

I bought 6 different excellent cheeses, some kalamata olives, and a couple of different crackers as my Thanksgiving Day offering. If I later feel like that's not enough I'll pick up some nuts and roast them in tamari sauce, or maybe boil eggs and devil them. But the likelihood is I'll just make the cheese and olive plate! What an easy Thanksgiving pour moi!

Today I weighed in at 136.2! 136.2!! That blows my mind! I was looking at myself in the mirror yesterday and for the first time in a long time I felt like I looked like I used to long ago - my body at least. Someone asked me the day before yesterday if I had ever been a model. He was hesitant to ask because it sounds like such a antiquated and cheesy pickup line, but he wasn't being smarmy. Anyway, I think have actually managed to recover my shape - in clothing anyway! Too bad my face doesn't look like it did long ago! Aging has it's rewards, but it definitely shows in your face.

Speaking of faces - have any of you used fillers? What kinds, and what was your experience? I was deep in the facelift years before weightloss and am deeper in them now, and I wish I had all the money I need right now to take care of things.

I ordered some Spanx velvet leggings for myself yesterday and went for size Small. (I do love velvet.) Hopefully that was the right size - by their chart my hips are borderline too large, but my waist is within the range. I figured I need all the compression I can get! Re: compression - a friend of mine who has had plastics told me as we were discussing my desire for eventual surgery that I should buy and wear (now, before any surgery) a surgical-strength compression bodysuit by Morena (I think that was the brand - it's on my phone so I can check later) to help tighten my lax skin up to whatever minor degree it can be re-absorbed or tightened or whatever. I doubt it would do much but I will probably try it out anyway - can't hurt and it might do something minor, and every little bit helps. And if not, I'll save it for after surgery, whenever that will be!

Speaking of faces - have any of you used fillers? What kinds, and what was your experience? I was deep in the facelift years before weightloss and am deeper in them now, and I so wish I had all the money I need right now to take care of things.

QOTD: I haven't had any fast food since my pre-op diet; "no fast food" was one of the cardinal rules I was given for a successful post-op experience. I used to like In-n-Out burgers and would feel fine about having one without the bun, but that chain isn't up here. I've never been to a Chick-fil-A but it's good to know about their naked nuggets. I've had Wendy's chili before but not for decades - good to know it's still around! If I was really stuck somewhere without a better option I would have any one of those items.

Fiirst: Four huge mugs of delicious tea! How I am enjoying these Jordan's syrups in my tea and coffee - time to go buy more!

B: Tuna

L: Chicken with a little cheddar

D: I am going out to dinner tonight to a restaurant that has fantastic reviews, but it's menu, though small, is constantly changing. They usually have some sort of wild game on the menu, and the place is pretty meat-centric, so I'm sure there will be something for me. It should be interesting, and the company will be nice too. I'll have fun - I'm sure of it!

Wishing all of you a wonderful day!

Tonight I had dinner with a guy I've known online for a couple of months. We'd had several good, lengthy phone conversations, but had never met in person before. He was exactly what I thought he would be: thoughtful, polished, incredibly well travelled, smart, cultured, decent, kind, good dresser, a cool guy . We had a very nice time, and managed to close down the restaurant.

I've had date #3 with the new guy you are thinking of, and will see him again on Friday. These two are very different types, but I like them both. The one I'm going to see on Friday I have a more intense physical response to though!

wow - you have really lucked out!! Not sure what I'd do - but might as well keep up with both for the time being. Over time it might become more clear - although then again, you might not necessarily be looking for a more-or-less permanent partner, so in that case, it doesn't matter! You can date as many people as you want!
