What's on your Saturday menu, RNYers?
good morning! I had a headache last night that was threatening to become a migraine (my vision was blurring) so I popped some Tylenol and was passed out by 9. So of course it's 5 AM and I'm wide awake!
today I'm driving up to my hometown for a book sale and to have lunch with my brother. He's been going through a rough time, and recently separated from his girlfriend of 7 years. I hope they work it out, we all loved her like she was our own.
Qotd: I'll take one from my interview--besides family, friends, and pets...what are you passionate about? For me it's YA literature, writing, and vegetable gardening...and of course, preserving food from my garden. It's so nice to be eating fresh garden spaghetti sauce on my meatballs in the winter! And I know exactly what's in it.
Breakfast: protein shake, then will likely grab coffee on our way out.
Lunch: going to a divey Mexican place with my brother. I'm deciding between ceviche or fish tacos sans tortillas
dinner: leftover marinated pork chops. They turned out super tender!

Good morning! You are a good sister. Enjoy your time with your brother. My DD is kicking the recent boyfriend out today. Traumatic but I don't think she will be upset afterwards. He had just showed up with his stuff a few weeks ago and moved in without asking! And she found out a lot of unsavory things having him around so much. I say Good Riddance!
QOTD: I'm passionate about the beach, sun and home decorating. I always have a bunch of projects going on (large or small).
2 Years 7.5 months post-op (maintaining below goal for 23.5 months)
Always lots of coffee...
B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: tuna salad, pickles, and cottage cheese
D: leftover scallops I think
S: homemade cottage cheese

Oh man, a guy moving in without asking would be an immediate NO for me. I hope your daughter gets over all of this quickly!

Good Morning. I am sky high on my way to Tampa for 10 days. Yay to plane wi-fi.
I am not going to pretend I am not nervous about 10 days out of routine. I will buy some of my own foods but in a house with kids and snacks! Ack!
QOTD: I love young people- teens and young adults. I teach painting classes to teens at my local library for over 10 years. Last three years I also do teen/parent classes. Great way for teens and parents to connect.
I am also the President of a Mental Health organization. There is no health without mental health. Many people see people who have suffered with mental illness as weak. They are some of the strongest most courageous people I know.
No menu because who knows? Shopping list though for when I get off the plane.

The painting classes sound fun! I love to paint, but due to living in a shoebox, I haven't painted much. I don't have much room to get my paint supplies out and honestly it's been long enough at this point that I should probably toss them and buy new supplies lol. DH and I go to those "wine and paint" trendy places once in a while (we just drink water)

Basically the types of classes I've always taught are like the wine and paint. 1 ½- 2 hours in and done but I've been doing it for a lot longer....about 15 years.... somebody is making money off it being trendy but it's not me.

Good luck being out of routine and have a great visit!
I loved working the teen volunteers when I was at the museum. I think if you have people of all ages in your circle, you really benefit from it! I have my "get off my lawn" days but I think it prevents those days from being life, lol

Enjoy Tampa! The weather looks like it will be great. We have friends coming in this weekend because the husband competes at the Fort Myers sandsculpting competition. Really cool experience seeing the sculptures.
I used to work as a mentor with teen parents. I was one myself so wanted to help others n the same situation.

Mornin' Weekenders!
the organization I chair has their quarterly brunch meeting this morning with a speaker, so that'll take up most of my morning. Hockey game this afternoon (women's hockey this time). Luckily, we didn't get the 4" of snow they were calling for - it's more like an inch. Whew!
QOTD: politics, coffee, learning (hmm...this is a hard one!!)
3 years 5 months out:
B: protein shake, homemade Greek yogurt with raspberries
MS: coffee with half & half
L (actually, brunch): chicken salad sandwich
AS: at the hockey game - maybe a protein bar?
D: TJ's grilled chicken strips, vegetables
