Peach - love your new wig. Is that your husband in the background? Such a happy gorgeous smile! Sorry about your neck, it's the hardest thing when you wanna move. I hope it feels better by your run time but if it's not, take it easy.

TGIF. I gotta do some light shopping for thanksgiving. We are going to friends home and I was given the task of making pumpkin scones and cranberry jello. Easy peasy. I know there will be turkey, pork and Brussels sprouts so I'm all good even what I'm making is all sugary.

QOTD - not a big BF shopper but I'll check online. Nothing specific I'm looking for. I've been clothes shopping since I lost the weight and I realize I gotta pull back a little and not spend so much. I act like a kid in the candy store, after 20 years of hating to shop for clothes now I want it all.

The first pic is my mom's bday last weekend with my nieces and DD. It's the first time DD has been present at her grandma's bday - we can never go to Italy in Nov. She is the one on the right side of pic almost behind my mom. My niece (the one with curly hair) everybody thinks SHE is my daughter when I'm in Italy and we go out. The second pic made me laugh when DD sent it to me. She was able to get into two classes for next semester that overlap for 10 minutes.

Where are you from in Italy, Sheila? We were in Montepulciano for a week this summer. I miss the warmth and sun already.

I'm from Pisa - near Florence. DD is doing a semester abroad and she chose Florence so she can be close to my family.

I'm very familiar with Montepulciano, it's near Siena. Although warm during summer, we have cold winters. Last winter my brother had to close his office for 3 days due to snow. Funny when people think of Italy always imagine it sunny!

We went to the Palio in Sienna while we were there. It was fun, so many people crowded in a little square all decorated with scarfs and the horses running around inside the city.

Oh wow! That must have been so great to see. You know, the first time I saw Harry Potter in theatres I thought they totally copied the Palio in Siena for their quidditch game and the house colors. Little they knew we've been doing that in Siena since the 1500. People are very attached to their "house color" in Siena.
