Good morning everyone! Happy hump day!!

Today is my 9 months post surgery, I can tell things are getting harder and my choices and actions have more impact than in prior months. Going through all my data, I can see good choices but some less than good choices as well. I feel well equipped but but some days it's harder than others! I feel confident that with focus and discipline, I can check off my next goal for myself before the end of the calendar year and be at my goal of a normal BMI before my 1 year and then start moving towards the goals I have set beyond that! (Because my surgeon didn't give me a goal, I've given myself 7; I've made it through 2 with my "I'll consider myself a success" as my #4 goal and then #7 is the "probably can't do it but putting it out there anyway" BHAG.

I think while I am home for three whole weeks in December, I am going to see if I can get in to the program psychologist one more time and go through my 2019 plan of attack with her, make sure I am setting myself up for success still and not being unrealistic!

qotd - I leave for my sister's on Friday night s d will be there through the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We do dinner at her house, spend most of Wednesday prepping so that the Thursday cooking isn't too bad. After all these years we have a routine so that's nice. We make turkey and everyone gets to pick one "must have" side. Mine is usually her "holiday" potatoes - I only eat them once a year and I plan on trying a bite this year but sure I won't eat much of them (her recipe is for every three potatoes, one block of cream cheese and beat together, add butter to taste, plus salt and pepper). My aunt who I was just visiting in Tennessee texted me last night that she's coming to my sister's so that will be fun!

accountability - getting back on track after Monday so that's going well!

There is an online company called true nuitrition. You can customize the protein source, the level of flavor and the sweetner. The gingerbread and eggnog are seasonal but I use them for my salted caramel pp (whey) and they taste really good. I also tried their pea protein and oh it was awful.

I tried this for lunch; it was eggnog-y but a little lighter than I was expecting...and when I added a sprinkle of nutmeg and ginger, it was very good.

You are doing so awesome! Way to crush those goals.

The recipe for the potatoes does sound good but to me that seems like a lot of cream cheese unless the potatoes are huge.

I definitely think if we sent them off to the food police food analysis labs they would come back as more dairy/cheese then potato.

Good morning everyone. Yesterday was such a long day, but a good day! The Thanksgiving dinner I made at work for my seniors was a huge success. So many happy people. Its so much work, but so worth it.

Has anyone heard from Janet??( Librarian67) I haven't seen her post lately. I miss her!

QOTD- We are going to the beach. We rented 2 yurts on the coast. We are taking our boat and we are going to go crabbing. Our kids are joining us, some of their friends and our dog Josie. I am looking forward to getting away.

I used to really struggle emotionally with the holidays. I have a lot of traumatic memories. I am thankful that I get to choose now what I do and I am choosing JOY!! I get to choose my own happy memories!!

Food yesterday was good!!! I resisted the carbs and the pie!!!

Food plan for today-

2 eggs, 1/2 c. cottage cheese

4 oz shredded chicken with hot sauce

Not sure on dinner. I was going to make navy bean and ham soup for the family, but I want to stick to protein for me, so maybe fish.

Tonight is support group, my surgeon is talking. She is retiring next month. I would really like to go, but it is at 7 pm an hour away. I really don't want to drive home in the dark and the wind. We shall see though. My husband said that he would go with me and we can make a date out of it. I am feeling emotional about her retiring, but so thankful that she was so amazing and she was part of my journey.
