What did you take for pain following an RNY?
I had a revision from a VSG to RNY on 11/6/18. For the most part, I'm very pleased with my surgical recovery, but do have some pain every now and then. Did anyone take Liquid Tylenol (CVS brand) extra strength? It does have some high fructose corn syrup in it. TIA for any responses!

If I recall correctly, I believe I took Tylenol. I don't like real strong pain meds. My surgery went really well and my recovery went well, so I only took Tylenol for a few days. The toughest time I had was right after I got home from the hospital. After a day or two I was fine. I just had to take it very easy, and I'm not good at doing that because I'm always doing something.
Thank you! This is my first day home too! And this is liquid Tylenol extra strength. I went ahead and took some - so far, so good! I'll know soon enough, I guess!

I had liquid norco prescribed for the first week or so post op. Mostly just took it at night after the first 2 or 3 days at home to help me sleep. I remember looking for liquid tylenol and could only find the children's version which does have sugar in it and it scared me too much because I was very sensitive to everything early on. I couldn't even drink sugar free protein shakes for about 4 weeks without severe nausea and sweating profusely for about 3 hours..I got chewable children's tylenol for the first week or 2 post op but didn't need it too much. Once I was about 6 weeks out my doctor cleared me to swallow pills.

I took liquid children?s Tylenol for a few days. Worked fine!
(edited to clarify - the children's version was the only liquid one I could find, I would have taken the adult version if I could have found it!)
