What's on your Thursday menu, RNYers?
Good Morning! Happy Friday-eve! Jen, thanks for kicking us off today. We had a good turn of with kids last night and got rid of all the candy at about 7:45 so next year I will buy a few more bags. This was the first year in the house so we weren't sure what to expect. There are two churches towards the end of the block and they were both doing trunk or treats so I think people wander the neighborhood after they are done there. All the kids were so polite I was impressed.
QOTD: I can't think of any I like but I have gone to three R5 concerts with my daughter (band that had one of her Disney show actors in it).

I love that you said 'got rid of the candy' instead of 'ran out of candy' haha!!

Mornin'!
Well yesterday was rough off & on because of my cat (grief tends to come and go with me - as I think it does with a lot of people. I think the brain can only handle so much at once). I'm feeling a bit blue this morning and want to just stay in bed, but I'm forcing myself to go to class later this morning since I think it's time to start easing myself back into normal life. I've been a wreck this last week or two watching her decline, and the last few days have been particularly awful. I'd been skipping a lot of my usual events and turning down invitations so I could be home with her during her last few days. But today I'm getting out (and hopefully tomorrow and this weekend, too!) and hope to be back in business by next week.
QOTD: hmmmm....there was a husband & wife duo up here a couple of years ago who did some more-or-less traditional Appalachian music. Their name was "Count this Penny". She was a teacher, he was doing a residency in psychiatry. They were just great and traveled around a lot during breaks performing. I think they're back in Tennessee now, though (where they were from).
3 years 4 months out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt, raspberries
MS: coffee with half & half, Miralax/protein peach shake (with a few frozen cranberries thrown in)
L: probably chicken salad (made with Greek yogurt) on a FlatOut FoldIt
AS: I should eat some baby carrots with hummus or baba ghanoush before the latter goes bad, but I'm really hooked on this protein pudding I made (plus it's super filling) - but I should probably do the former. That pudding will last a few more days.....
D: I have a dinner meeting at Panera tonight. I'll most likely get a cup of turkey chili or black beans soup plus one of the lower-calorie half salads (one of those "Pick 2" deals)
have a good day, All!

I have to be careful at Panera...I was the "can both of my pick 2 be mac and cheese" girl previously. My bookclub meets there once a month and so far I've made it through all the challenges!

I always get either the turkey chili or black bean soup - both are pretty low-cal and very filling! And the lower-cal salads are good, too - like the Asian chicken salad. I think there's a Thai chicken salad, too, that fits the bill... At any rate, if I stick to something like this, I come out of there OK!
