Pregnant
I accidently hit 9 instead of 8 but my surgery date was 08/13/2018. I just found out I'm pregnant yesterday and after researching and freaking out I found this site.
Have any of you guys been through this and what did you do? Can I have a healthy baby? I was on birth control, I don't know how this happened. I mean I know how but I thought I was being careful by taking birth control.
It can and does happen, and it is possible to have a healthy pregnancy. You will likely get labs drawn very frequently and have to work very closely with a doctor. There is a pregnancy after WLS forum here but it may not be very active.
I was told that oral BC may not be absorbed as fully as before RNY and to use a backup form of BC. I switched to the IUD instead. Also, with rapid weight loss, fertility spikes.

My doctor knew I was on oral birth control but never side anything about a backup.
I posted in the other thread as well but no one has responded so it's probably not active as you stated.

Congratulations! I suggest immediately getting in touch with your doctor for advice on how to manage getting adequate nutrition as a post-op to support your pregnancy, etc. Then look for a good obstetrician who will coordinate with your bariatric surgeon. A boost in fertility is one side effect of our weight loss. Other women who have participated in this forum have become pregnant; it's definitely not unknown, though it would probably have been ideal to wait a bit before conceiving, given your recent WLS. Wishing you much happiness. Take good care!
Thank you! I thought the pills would protect me from that. I've used them for years uneventful. I completely scared.
I was going to wait three years that's why I immediately got back on birth control once clearance was given. This was completely unplanned. I've never been this scared of anything in my life.

You need to contact your surgeon immediately, as well as an OB who deals with high-risk pregnancies.
It is absolutely possible to have a healthy pregnancy after WLS, but it will be very difficult to get adequate nutrition to the fetus so early out of surgery.
Ending the pregnancy may be an option as well, as it sounds like you're probably very early on. Your doctors can give you the best advice about different options for the health of your body and this (or future) pregnancies.
If you got pregnant on the pill, you should consider a second form of BC. Your partner could wear condoms, or you could look into something like Implanon or an IUD.

I reached out already and was squeezed in for an emergency appointment this Friday.
I don't believe in terminations so I will see this pregnancy through if God allows me to do so. I just hope the baby and I can be healthy.
