Hello everyone:
I can't believe it's already afternoon! The morning just flew -- Mondays tend to be like that!
I took everyone's advice and I am on day 4 of carb detox. I'm thinking that perhaps, a part of my slide into "carb hell" may have been due to the Remeron (mirtazapine) that my bariatric medical doctor prescribed to help with my ongoing nausea from solid proteins. A major concern I had before trying the Remeron was that it can increase appetite and cause weight gain. I think it may have precipitated my carb craving and slip -- but I don't know for sure. It also didn't help the nausea. I spoke with my psychiatrist before I tried it and we both agreed that if my appetite returned that I would stop the Remeron right then -- which is what I did.
QOTD: The Italian half of me votes for spaghetti and meatballs!
MEALS FOR TODAY:
Breakfast: 8 oz nonfat milk, SF chocolate syrup, protein powder (15 g)
Snack: 2 oz low fat cheese slices
Lunch: 2 oz Tuna Creations-Ranch
Snack: 3 oz L&F Greek yogurt
Dinner: 3 oz baked haddock

I had my interview this morning. They pretty much told me that they want me. The only problem is I'm not sure I really want the job. My gut is telling me no. It took me over an hour to get back to my side of town. Traffic nightmare, construction, closed short cuts etc. I'm not sure I could make that commute on a daily basis. I thought the job was basically for an Engineer, but it's actually for an Engineering Manager and I would be the technical expert. That scares me, it's not that I'm not smart but I feel like I would be jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Yes it's more money, but money isn't everything. I like all of the people I work with, and I appreciate my Fridays working from home. I'll have to do some more thinking about it, but I'm inclined to turn it down.
The bag of Reese's Pumpkins managed to disappear into my stomach, not a good thing. I'm not buying anymore. No Halloween candy for me.
Accountability was OK, but I need to make sure I keep logging everything.
Have a good afternoon everyone!

Can you negotiate a couple of work from home days? It seems these days it's possible to get WFH, additional vacation, different kinds of "soft" benefits if you negotiate them upfront!

Hello my fellow RnYers! Happy Monday!
Another cool and misty day on the island! Busy day between work, shopping, and cleaning. I am going to buy a Roomba, which should help in keeping up with two shedding felines and the cat litter they kick around! I just have to figure out which model to buy. I keep saying this, but it really will happen now!
My weight continues to incrementally drop - down another .6# today - after spiking for 3 days last week due, I'm pretty sure, to not drinking enough. So I'm back to my lowest post-op weight. I am still 4.6 pounds over my 2nd goal, but I am determined to reach it soon! And then I'll continue, so I'll have a buffer. But I will definitely celebrate when I am at (actually when I'm just under) goal!
QOTD: I have been a crazy sugar demon (demoness?) all of my life. I haven't had any sugar except for what is in berries (and in some ham) since my RnY. I don't know if I dum*****t, but I actually kind of hope that I am one of those who would, since sugar was such a big part of my obesity, and I never want to go back to that, and am afraid of it. I am sufficiently scared of both losing it with sugar and of dumping to not test those waters. Anyway, though I loved sugar, I would opt instead for the meatballs. Not the spaghetti - I never was a pasta-holic - just the meatballs.
