weight loss/eating
Hey its been 4 1/2 month since my RNY. I started at 216 pds and now weigh 165. I still struggle with eating food it sit heavy in my chest and stomach. I have to remind myself to eat I get scared to eat cause I dont want to feel sick. I find it easy t eat and digest sweets more than protein. Can anyone give me some tips or advise? Does anyone else have issues with real food versus sweets after your RNY?
Absolutely. Those easy slide foods are terribly easy to eat, swallow, and digest. Protein (especially meats) are still very hard for me to eat one year out. My advice is to just avoid them as much as you can. Buy a good protein shake that you can tolerate. I buy Premier Protein from Costco. I like them at room temperature and I like the chocolate flavour. I still have issues with downing these evil sweets. I just had 4 Halloween chocolates. I'm not learning my lesson and regain is going to be the hard way to learn it, so yes, I do struggle and yes I have to clean up my act. Good luck!

Chew your food until it is a puree... make sure your food is moist. Tiny, bites and eat slowly. The beginning is hard. If it starts to feel weird, Take a 5 minute break to let it move down the pipe and go back to the food if it has passed....
Do you take any kind of medicine for acid? Acid can make eating feel that way too.
