You're not failing! Not at all! It's not easy -parenting is not for wussies!! I have a wonderful relationship with my son now, but for several years we fought and I felt like I was going cray-cray. It may be a while, but it will get better. Hang in there

Kelly you are far from failing. This is an incredibly hard and important stage. Our kids are learning how to be independent from us and it isn't always pretty.

I remember when my mom was having a rough time with my brother, who was a rebellious teenager, she read somewhere that it helps to just touch them, lay a hand on their shoulder, pat them on the back, etc. I know she made an effort to contact my brother through touch and I think it helped.
