A stall?
Hello friends,
I am two weeks post-op. Between the week before surgery (Revision from sleeve to gastric by-pass) I have been on liquids. This week I started puree but my surgeon wants me to stay away from carbs, fruits and vegetables for another two weeks. I have lost about 23 pounds, but I have noticed that I have not been loosing much this last couple of days. I am wondering if I have reached a stall? I kn ow that since surgery I have been walking but sometimes i get tired, although I stay pretty active. I think I can be more active after the first month without limitations. Is this too soon for the weigh-loss to begin to stall? I am starting to feel better. I take my protein as directed and I drink more than 64 ounces of water a day. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
S
Perfectly normal and common for both RNY and VSG. Search "3 week stall" in the forums and you'll find dozens of posts about this very thing. It's your body saying "WTH? You used to feed me and now there's no food, so I better hang on for dear life cuz you're starving me to death!" LOL Stay the course, keep to your plan, and the weight will start to drop again. This first (yes, I said first because there will be more) stall can last from a week to several weeks, everyone is different. My 3-week stall lasted 5.5 weeks! But I didn't let it get me down because I knew about it from reading here, and eventually the weight started falling off again.
Hang in there...this, too, shall pass!!
