What's on your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
Good Morning Everyone!
Life is pretty quiet for me right now and I am fine with that. I'm trying to increase my fluid intake. I want to get to 100 ounces a day. I am just making it to 80 ounces. Sort of a goal for me I guess. Too bad coffee doesn't count as water.
QOTD: When I have trouble falling asleep I usually take some Tylenol PM. It is not often that I have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep.
10 months out and weight is 165.5 this morning
B1: boiled egg
B2: PP chocolate shake (if needed)
L: chicken sausage with peppers and onions
S: 1/2 Honeycrisp apple and a Babybel cheese
D: Yum, Yum chicken and sauteed spinach with mushrooms
You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

I used to not count coffee as a liquid and then my RD said I could but I couldn't count protein shakes unless they were water based, and I had been counting all protein shakes. It's so confusing some days. I decided that since I drink more coffee (leaded and decAf) than I do protein shakes, I'd go with coffee as in and protein shakes out, lol

I've always counted protein shakes. What did she mean by "no****er based"? I make my chocolate- and vanilla-based ones with unsweetened cashew or almond milk. Is that what she was referring to? Those nut milks are 99% water. I'm curious what she meant by that. Even cow milk is almost all water. I'm curious what she was referring to..

Essentially, to count RTD shakes as meal/protein vs fluids but could count milk on it's own as a liquid, so I would think almond milk would be ok. Syntrax is a liquid and protein but not necessarily a meal on its own. It's all very bizarre.

Good morning! My interview for the promotion at my current job is set for Tuesday. I'm really hoping I hear something back from The other job I interviewed for a couple days ago by the end of this week--it would likely be a third (in person) interview. It's the one I really want, but I've applied for this place many times before to no avail. It's super competitive--excellent pay and benefits--so of course I'm just one of possibly hundreds applying for it. I'm hoping my chances are better this time because my husband already works there and is friends with the hiring manager, and also the shift is just rotten--4 10-hour days, Saturday-Tuesday. So I'd be working all weekend every weekend. The 4 10s don't bother me at all though, but I'm hoping it turned other people off from applying.
Qotd: I fall asleep quickly and mostly sleep through the night with a few episodes of restlessness when I need to adjust or maneuver around one of the cats. I usually put an audio book on a 15 minute sleep timer and am asleep before the time is off.
Breakfast: coffee with almond milk
snack: 2 oz deli turkey
lunch: 4 oz shrimp with ****tail sauce
snack: HB egg with spicy mustard
dinner: 4 oz chicken breast with some variety of wiggle sauce.
I diced and cooked up a few lbs of chicken breast and portioned it out into 4 oz containers. I'll eat them with different sauces or over a salad for the next few days
