Diet fatigue! Help!
I am 14 mos post op. I am at a point where I keep gaining and losing the same 5 lbs for the last 2 months. I have right at 20 lbs to lose to get to goal. I know my problem is I do really well for 5 or 6 days, then have a couple days of blow out. Ugh! So frustrating. I feel like the biggest thing right now for me is that I'm experiencing diet fatigue. I've been working on surgery then losing for over 3 years and I'm burnt out. How do you all get past that? No matter what I tell myself I just keep sabotaging myself. Any words of advice?
I don't have any words of advice but I too am experiencing self-sabotage. I'm glad you started this thread and I hope there are a lot of responses. I nearing my last 15 pounds and my struggle is becoming real.

Try not to make it the center or your universe and live more. By now you know all the basic rules and should be following them. If not, make sure you are... Change up your food and what you do for moving. Sometimes I eat the same thing until I can't stand it anymore. LOL
You have accomplished so much, enjoy it! The daily menu post is great too! Keep us posted on how you are doing.

My first thought is, I do not consider myself on a diet anymore. It is just how/what I eat now. A narrow range of foods is more comfortable for me. Things that I used to eat are just not a part of my life anymore. There are things that never enter my house. Donuts, french fries, candy, pie, cake, etc. just do not enter. I have found things that work, you probably know them.... greek yogurt, jerky, nuts, cheese, dense protein... and those are the things that I have access to. I am very happy with my new habits.
My other thought is, how reasonable is your goal? How close are you to a normal range? I am still about 15 pounds away from a normal BMI and I still hope/wish I could get there but it may not happen. I am reasonably happy with where I am, though. Are you reasonably happy with where you are?
I am 5'6" and my goal is 150. I weighed 168.6 this morning. I think it's reasonable but if I don't obtain that goal I would at least like to get down another 10 lbs. I would still be considered overweight by the bmi scale. I'm starting to think my body is comfortable where I'm at right now and that is frustrating.
You will always know your body best. I am 5'5' and currently 156. For my height 149 would be considered the top of the "normal" BMI chart. Which is why that was my goal... to get to a normal BMI. But that is also artificial. I feel vey comfortable at my current weight. I could lose more if I continue to cut down on calories, and I think you could, too.
So maybe, spend some time thinking about what your end goals are. My most important goal is to be healthy. Which I am!
