Good morning everyone!

I had a really good weekend, despite talking to DH about my old friend who I've been talking to...it actually went a lot better than I anticipated. I was so nervous to tell him but I just explained that he called me out of the blue one day, I had been talking to him since then, and I realized that it was deceitful of me to not tell him about it. He seemed a little hurt for a minute but then he basically asked me not to talk to him anymore and that he wasn't mad, just glad I told him and nothing actually happened.
We had a super productive day Saturday doing a thorough cleaning of the house together, and then we went shopping and bought new winter coats to reward ourselves haha.

Yesterday Story and I went to my sister's house to make some crafty things for Story's upcoming birthday party and I got to get some delicious baby snuggles in with my little nephew and hang out with my sister who is, in reality, probably my best friend besides DH, so it's nice to just hang out sometimes.

QOTD: I've got a really great low carb stuffed pepper recipe made with kale and turkey italian sausage that my whole family loves- no rice, but super filling and delicious!
I've got a few others too--we make a lot of cauliflower rice with things, veggie zoodles, chicken crust pizza, etc. we get pretty creative in the kitchen!

B: coffee w/SF hazenut creamer, greek L&F yogurt, handful of grapes
L: chicken tikka masala w/bell peppers
S: 2 light string cheese
D: chicken cordon bleu casserole

Have a fantastic day everyone!

Morning everyone. Getting ready to start my day by lounging in bed watching Fat, Salt, Acid, Heat on Netflix. So good. It is total food porn, but I actually learned quite a bit. I highly recommend it.

Today is out last day of stellar weather before the rain sets in, so I need to get my outside chores done. I still haven't tackled the garage. Ugh!

QOTD: I've modified a few things, such as making puzzling using a portobello mushroom cap as the crust, or substituting cauliflower for rice or pasta in recipes (e.g., fried rice or Mac and cheese).

3 years + 11 months post op:

B: Egg Foo Young made with cauliflower fried rice and Egg Beaters

S: 1/2 cup of white bean and ham soup

L: pork chili verde

S: roasted butternut squash and cauliflower

D: braised short rib

S: Protein hot chocolate

Have a great day everyone!

Every dog is different, despite the breed, so you have to know how yours would react to a cat. We had an airedale when I was growing up - these are the largest of the terriers. We also always had two cats. The cats were there first, before our airedale was born, an order which probably affected their interactions. She was a tiny puppy when we got her. She was always very respectful of them, and they largely tolerated her, though they weren't above giving her a rare spiteful swipe if they were particularly feeling out of sorts. I never saw her chase or intimidate them.

Thanks Joyce for starting us off!

Over the past week or so OH no longer is legible on my tablet. No problems previously, but evidently the site changed something and now I have to read it and respond via my computer, which isn't as convenient. I hope that is adjusted.

Yesterday it was incredibly foggy all day long on the island - so much so that early in the morning I opened the door to be sure it wasn't smoke from a fire. The mountains weren't even visible, nor was Whidbey Island, just across the water from us. But I love the fog - so misty and otherworldly. Today it was foggy early but it's burned off now, and everything is fresh and sparkling!

Tomorrow I am taking the train into Seattle rather than driving. I'm attending a fund-raising luncheon at the Four Seasons hotel and am looking forward to it - it will be some sort of seafood dish, which should be fine. The train back doesn't leave until 7, so that will leave me several hours to poke around Seattle, visit the Pike Place Market, and go to the art museum. Plus my son and DIL work in that neighborhood, so I will get together with them after they finish for a couple of hours. Should be a wonderful day!

I have segued over to CAMAW instead of AMAW as of yesterday. I'm still not doing cashew milk in my coffee to keep it true CAMAW. Hopefully tomorrow's luncheon will be CAMAW-compliant. I'm still in the mid-140s but gradually going down! Yay! I'm going to be in the 130s sometime next month, which blows my mind.

QOTD: I live alone and honestly am not that into cooking. I do love to cook when I have people over, and I love to prepare big holiday spreads, but when by myself it's more of a Meh? event. So to be truthful I just keep it very simple and barely cook. It's actually very interesting to me, because previously food was such a focus, so very important to me, a treasure! Now I am just not that interested. I like what I eat well enough, but it's not a subject of fascination or great interest. I hope this is a deep level, lasting change, not something I will have to really fight to keep.

First: 3 big mugs of tea

B: Tuna

L: Ham with smoked gouda

D: chicken

S: shrimp

Wishing everyone a wonderful Monday!
