he's super happy with the results (I am too, actually!). As for the next surgery, he's now thinking he'll make an incision down each side to pull some of that upper torso (as well as upper back) excess skin off that way rather than doing a vertical incision. The vertical cut will leave a scar up my middle in the front - and won't affect my back nearly as much. Of course, I'll have scars on my sides - but I'm thinking I wouldn't mind them as much there. We'll see what the quote (estimate) for that is. I should get it sometime this week. That may make the decision for me... I actually think I'd be OK with just the breast lift and arm lift as the leftover skin (high on my torso) and the sort of ripply-looking stuff on my abdomen don't bother me that much as there's not much of it (and I can't see my back, so of course the skin there doesn't bother me at all). That vs. a vertical scar is kind of wash, really, but we'll see how much more it would be to do those incisions on the side. I should have asked his nurse for her opinion. She's seen a ton of results - and she tends to be more pragmatic about these things. Plastic surgeons, as you know, are artists and perfectionists... That leftover excess skin that he couldn't get to during the first surgery (because it was too high up) was bothering him - but I can live with it. It's pretty minor and not in an area where it's noticeable or causes problems. Anyway, I'll wait for the estimate before deciding. I could go either way, but if it's going to cost a lot, I'll pass. And I still have time to think about it, cost issues or not...
Morning all. It is chilly here and it would have been really nice to stay curled under the covers with DW and 3 cats.
For those of you who saw my late post yesterday, I took DW to the ER yesterday afternoon because we weren't sure whether she was having another stroke. After several hours and multiple tests, they sent us home because the MRI didn't show any current bleeding in her brain. She is, however, showing signs of a detached retina in her left eye and her neuro is going to try to get us in to see an ophthalmologist today to have her tested.
Surprisingly i did sleep a bit last night considering how tired and stressed I was. The cats came and curled up with me and demanded to be pet and I think that helped me to relax. Not sure what will happen today but it will definitely be a busy day.
I spent more than 3 hours working in the yard yesterday and made more progress in getting things cleaned up. It was cool and windy but felt good to be out and moving.
Menu:
B: lots of coffee and ham
S: protein shake
The rest of the day is up in the air depending on where we are. I have a bunch of chomps packed in my bag for snacks so I will try to stay protein forward.
Exercise: I'd like to get in a run today but not sure when I will have a chance.
