Thanks for the suggestion, I do visit a nearby soup kitchen often in the summer with garden produce. Luckily we got most of the extra campfire goods to family and friends who will use them, we just kept things we'd use ourselves--bottled water, all the veggies from the veggie tray, and the last half pack of hot dogs. We did have beans and weenies, btw and it was weirdly satisfying lol. Maybe it was because I was bone tired and it was an easy dinner!

Morning all! We're back home and I'm trying to do some catch up activities before the new week starts. More laundry, cleaning, some food prep (a beef roast) and also some yard work. The day is supposed to be sunny but chilly and very windy. I may take a hike (did more than an hour of running and walking at a local lake yesterday after WAY too much time driving!) but thinking about just doing the yard work for some exercise.

It was nice to get away the last few days and to see some great historical sites but DW became easily overwhelmed and very confused through it all and even became non-verbal a few times. Future trips will need to be carefully planned.

QOTD: my nightstand tends to collect way too much junk including old magazines and crossword puzzles and odd books that I have started but not finished. I always have several bottles of water and a big glass of ice tea, also tissues and napkins, vitamin patches & calcium, crossword puzzles books, my tablet, my phone and my glasses. The worst part is that the cats come along and "relocate" things to their pleasure and then I have to figure out where they went (including behind the bed!).

Menu:

B: lots of coffee and some ham

S: protein shake

L/D: I have shrimp thawed and the roast but not sure which meal I will have which meat.

S: Buddig's turkey packet, blueberries

Exercise: heavy yard work, maybe a walk/hike

My DH needs a lot of sleep in general, so being able to sleep late and take an afternoon nap seem to help a lot. Yesterday we did one activity for about 90 minutes (visited a Chinese garden) in the early afternoon and one last night (out to dinner). He did pretty well as opposed to our European trip when the pace was fine for me but overwhelmed him. He is generally non-verbal a lot of the time now regardless.

Thanks for the input Liz. I really thought that I had planned in enough down time with low key activities, long lunches and short days but by the time we were driving home (we left early) she couldn't answer my questions. I'll also talk to the doc about it this week.

It's not easy and sometimes a schedule that works one day may not work the next. I feel for you and what you are dealing with.

In ER with DW now because she started having stroke like systems this afternoon. She's having another MRi now to compare to one 2 months ago. I'm just trying to remember to breathe and let the staff take care of her.

Just keep breathing and knowing you and DW have many good thoughts flying your way. Also, if you need to go outside and yell, that does help ensure you keep getting good oxygen even when you are anxious and tense.
