I vowed that this week I would remember to post something for photo Friday... and I forgot again. Next week will be the one. Today I have a few errands and then tonight we have a black tie gala. My daughter and both of my sons are joining my wife and I at the gala which I am looking forward to. Hopefully we will get nice family picture. The boys are actually being pretty good about dressing up. My daughter, of course, leapt at the chance to get a new dress.

QOTD: I can't say that this is one that I have given a lot of thought to. For boys I like strong, short, simple names.

Breakfast: Turkey meatballs and cottage cheese

Snack: Dannon light and fit

Lunch:Mahi Mahi burger

Snack: volpi

Dinner: Steak of fish at gala

Have a great day all.

I so love dressing up. When I was a little kid in the 60s, I remember seeing an ad in a magazine. A gorgeous and beautiful woman, wearing a long glittering gown and satin over-the-elbow gloves, was bending over to kiss her little boy goodnight. Her husband, resplendent in an impeccable tux, was looking on fondly from the doorway. What could be seen of the house through the hallway door was terribly grand. It was clear that they were about to go out for a gala evening of some sort. I found the image so incredibly attractive, and I wanted my life to be just that way - one of balls and ballgowns, tiaras and tuxedos.

My life hasn't worked out quite that way, though I have often wondered "Where's my tiara? Where's my coach-and-four?" when forced to deal with less pleasant realities. I still find the Cinderella life enchanting. Have a wonderful time at your gala!

Thank you, Cara. It is for a great cause. CASA or Court Appointed Special Advocates provides volunteer advocates to observe the development and care of children who find themselves in the Juvenile Court system through no fault of their own. Typically these children are victims of abuse or neglect. The advocates are trained, periodically meet with the children and the children's caregivers, and report findings to the Court.

Organizationally, there is one CASA for each Juvenile Court district. I am on the Board of the CASA for our western Chicago suburban county. We just raise money though, it is the volunteer advocates that do the important work.

Good morning! I did not win mega millions so it's back to work on Monday for me. Rob and I bought tickets and I was in a pool of 9 at work. Oh well, It was fun dreaming. We have a very tiny mouse in the house! I hope its the only one... We have farms all around us so this is not a surprise. Anyway, I don't think our animals care about him at all, so maybe we have a new pet? He has taken up residence in Rob's man cave/office somewhere. I hope he moves on. Today we are headed out to Cambria and Cayucos. It will be sunny and warm on the coast today - looking forward to a beautiful day!

QOTD - Elizabeth - my middle name. I go back in forth between the Elizabeth and Lizzie, but my wish name has always been Elizabeth.
