That estimate sounds crazy! We did an addition with a two car garage including a storage loft and a 200 square foot sunroom with wainscoting and gorgeous windows for $100K. And our deck (large) was replaced with trex and new railings and stairs for $13K.

that's what I thought - that estimate was crazy. I want to go with a reputable contractor, even if I have to pay above average prices but....seriously?? I think I might call a couple other contractors next week and see what they say. I think $60K for a porch is really out of line, but I'll know for sure if I get estimates from other people

Good Morning! It's Fri-Yay. Love that shirt Shauna and I am glad the taping went well, can't wait to see pics! ETA: Many years ago we were denied a cat adoption too from a place that always has a ton-the excuse we were given was that because we were renting our house (we had a signed lease stating we were allowed to have one). I still hold a grudge with that place.

Some meetings from yesterday were pushed to either today or early next week so alas here I am. My peeps are providing the opportunity to learn more about some company policies and building my HR knowledge. Oh and for good measure they are also allowing me to exercise my patience and creativity.

QOTD: Cauliflower and running.

Time since surgery: 4 years 2 months

B: SF latte, egg white Crepini, shredded cheese, ½ an orange and 2 turkey sausage links

L: Albacore lettuce wraps and baby carrots

S: Simply protein chips, carbmaster yogurt, and iced latte bar

D: 3 oz BBQ tri-tip, mashed cauliflower with shredded cheese, sliced fruit, and 2 squares dark chocolate

ES: Homemade Greek yogurt with SF syrup and ¼ cup fiber cereal

E: An hour stair climber this morning and 40 mins of elliptical at lunch

We didn't get a cat once because you had to take 2 cats or none so they wouldn't be ",lonely".

Some of the excuses they come up with. Poor animals need good homes.

Oh, good luck on the search for the cat! Some of those adoption places can be a little intense, from what I hear! You can only adopt from them if you'll x, y, z for the life of the pet or if you're not out of the house for more than x hours a day, etc. it's definitelh them, not you, lol. And how exciting on the medium! You are way more than Fit(ish)!

qotd - I think the big thing I do now is practice brutal honesty with myself about what I'm eating and what I'm doing. Previously I wouldn't track or I'd be half assed about it, I am a good cook and I never measured a recipe or a portion, and I was very inconsistent on weighing myself. Now I do all those things, look at patterns monthly and weigh everything including myself religiously.

I am up in Colorado today through Sunday, friends and I are going to Glenwood Springs hot springs after work today!

Food is unclear but it will be lots of cheese because that's how we roll and coffee for sure!

photos are of my climb to the crows next on the cruise and me in the crows next (it was very high, you can't really see me!)

have a great end of the week!

I tried to adop a dog from a rescue and it was ridiculous. We joked that it's easier to adopt a child than a puppy. There was a 15 page questionnaire: If you and your significant other break up, what happens to the dog; What happens if the dog eats your shoe; where will the dog sleep, list your previous pets and what happened to them. They reserved the right to have unannounced home visits in perpetuity and a home visit before placement. I was denied because I have a pool that isn't fenced (which would not be up to code now, but I was grandfathered in) It didn't matter that I have a dog run that's gated so I can control access to the pool portion of the yard. The puppies were adorable and when I saw them I started to cry (we had just put our dog down), but I was fine not adopting from them. I'm not about the forever home visit. You want to know what kind of pet parent I am? Here's my vet's name and number. Call and ask her is she'd recommend us.
