Mornin'!

I'm less stressed out today. I made a lot of headway with stuff I had to do for my civic organization yesterday, and also, as of last night, I decided to table the screened porch idea for now. We got the estimate yesterday - $60K. For a freaking porch! I know kitchen remodels can cost that (even way more than that, in fact), but a PORCH? I about had a coronary - but at least it got me to table it for now so it's one less stressor I have to deal with. We may get a couple more estimates - or settle for replacing our dying deck with another deck - but $60K? No. I think for now we just need to sit on it and decide what we want to do - and maybe give ourselves until the spring to make a decision. With a minor kitchen remodel happening next week, and phase 2 of my plastic surgery coming up in about six weeks, plus my extracurricular involvements, I just don't want or need this huge thing hanging over my head right now. There's no reason why we can't wait on this...

QOTD: as for doing things, I've been doing yoga for 14 years, but I can do WAY more poses now that I've lost over 200 lbs. Plus I can do vinyasa ("flow") yoga and do standing positions with ease - something I used to dread. As for eating, oddly, I eat a lot more processed foods now - like SF pudding, SF popsicles, SF fudgesicles, microwavable dishes (but only when I'm in a rush...or desperate). I also eat more meat than I used to because of the protein. And cheese sticks - I'm not sure I'd ever had one before WLS. I used to eat a ton more fruits & vegetables, and I miss them - but I don't have enough stomach real estate to pack those away anymore - esp since we're supposed to eat protein first.

3 years 4 months out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt with 1/2 scoop chocolate protein powder, raspberries

MS: coffee with half & half, Miralax/protein peach shake

L: TJ's turkey slices with two cheese sticks, grapes

AS: crustless protein pumpkin pie

D: chicken & veggie Chinese-style stir fry (either that or the other half of the turkey/avocado sandwich I had the other night at a restaurant - plus some veggies)

edited to add my photo. This is me at a hockey game last Friday night

actually, this one was University of Wisconsin vs. Boston College. But I'd totally go to a Blackhawks game - I've discovered that I love hockey!!!

Oh I love college Hockey as well! I went to see a National Championship game a few years ago, Boston College vs Ferris State, the School Bands were on opposite ends of the rink and during warmups and breaks in the action the bands would alternate playing songs..it was such an exciting atmosphere.

that's what I liked about it, too - the bands playing, loud music over the loudspeaker, the mascots skating around between periods, the camera panning around and zeroing in on people in the audience - it was really fun!
