hi all

starting us out early this morning. didn't sleep well last night for some reason. I got a bug up my butt and decided to chop all my hair off last night after my eye appt. I did get contacts and the doc said my eye contact issues were actually from allergies! so he put me in a pair of monthly ones to try. I go back week after next. hopefully i can tolerate them and went back on allegra and nose spray.

had a 2 pound drop on the scale- man that was hard work! i still want to lose another 9 pounds before Dec so have a looong road ahead. this loss comes off very very slow so caution to you newbies...

QOTD: What is your main source of heat in your home and if you could change it, what would you choose? We have a propane furnace and it was costly to run last year so we are trying to hurry and install a wood burning heater before the weather fully changes.

Food for today:

pork leftover with spag squash

salad with bolthouse dressing

2 buddig packets

coffee

PP as creamer

not sure on dinner i think ribs?

Morning! It's cold. I'm cold.

QOTD: A gas furnace that does not keep this old house warm. Plus, the vent in my part of the home doesn't even work lol. So, a space heater is how I keep warm, plus my electric blanket and lots of layers!

Good morning! I literally went to bed last night at 7 pm. I just woke up at 4. I am a new woman!

CAMAW was great yesterday. I was on plan 110%. I have not weighed myself yet.

QOTD- We have wood heat as our main source and electric back up. We live in the PNW, so our winters aren't too bad like the mid-west. I love wood heat. Sitting watching the fire on a cold morning, drinking coffee is the best. We don't have a tv in our living room.

Menu for today-

Coffee with miralax

2 eggs, 1/2 c. cottage cheese with everything bagel seasoning

S-chomps at 11

L-4 oz shredded chicken breast with hot sauce

D-probably more chicken or possibly fish

lots of water and hot tea, vitamins always

Have a great day and be kind!!

Good morning everyone! SS, pictures of the new hair please, I bet it looks great!

QOTD - I have solar for heat and A/C (but am connected to the grid as well) so all electric. Other than every year to test that the furnace is working, I think I've run the heat once in my 5 years in AZ. I do use a small space heater in the bathroom on winter mornings though!

Accountability - swapped my chicken for the last slice of cheese crust pizza so a bit higher on calories and carbs but in plan.

Plan for the day:

Coffee + half and half; cold brew with cold brew ice cubes and tea

B - 3 oz deli turkey

L - 3 oz deli turkey plus tillamook cheese square

D - 3 oz crockpot chicken breast

S - if needed a Dannon L&F greek

Exercise - doing a 3 hour self defense class at work tonight

Have a great Tuesday all!

Morning all! I am feeling more settled this morning. I'm glad I took yesterday to work at home so I could relax a bit more and spent more time with DW. She cried alot and I took hand holding breaks from my computer.

Decided to hit the gym at work this morning for a run on the treadmill. Sometimes it is hard to get a full hour at lunchtime with meetings and keeping up with the trainees. I am working out with my trainer 2 days a week (once for an hour in his gym and once for half an hour cyber session in my little gym). I've started running again about 2 days a week, sometimes 3. I really love the way I feel when I run, but I want to be very careful with my older knees, hips and shins. The strength training has helped to develop my legs though so I am having less problems that I have previously. The other days of the week, I am doing a mixture of kickboxing DVDs, some lighter weights, walking and swimming. It is SO strange after a lifetime of moving as little as possible to enjoy getting tired and sweaty!

Accountability: I was really munchy after dinner last night. I had some extra ham, but then splurged on 1 eggo bluebery waffle with a TBSP of PB. Not horrible, but it was head hunger not physical hunger...

Menu:

B1: 5 almonds, Isopure C&C protein shake w/ iced coffee (I'm not sure when I will switch back to hot coffee in the morning with the weather getting cooler).

B2: 2 HB eggs

S: chomps, 5 almonds

L: TJ's Chinese chicken salad

S: Buddigs beef packet, apple

D: I have shrimp thawing

Exercise: 3 miles on the treadmill, maybe a walk to CVS at lunch

Has DW seen a psychiatrist? Depression is a common part of dementia and can make it worse. I finally have an appointment with one for my DH (his PCP prescribed an antidepressant previously but he needs more now).

She goes back and forth about seeing someone. She has been on a variety of anti-depressants and since her diagnosis her PCP has raised her dosage, which has helped some. The providers that she has contacted (who take her insurance) don't work with people with dementia or cognitive issues. She needs more support than me and her FB group but we're having trouble finding resources right now.
