mornin'!

I have a class this morning, then I need to run out to the shoe outlet and exchange these running shoes that I bought (and really like!) for cross-trainers. A couple of the water fitness instructors said they're much better for what I'll be doing. Wish the shoe store employee had told me that... Then, I have a ton of work to do for the organization I chair. Busy day...

QOTD: I started getting flu shots every year when I went back to work on campus 17 years ago. College kids walk around sick all the time. Before that, I got them most years, but not all. I have an appt to get one in two weeks - and I'll keep getting them yearly now that I'm getting older. I hate being sick!

weight still up. Ugh.

3 years 4 months out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt and raspberries

MS: coffee with half and half, protein shake

L: cottage cheese and strawberries

AS: L&F yogurt, high fiber cereal

D: blackened chicken breast, vegetables

exercise: 30 mins at the gym (HAVE to do this today! I slacked off again yesterday!!)

Good morning! We had a hot day yesterday, almost in the 90s, and then around 5:30 or so, a HUGE wind gust started up and the temp dropped 25 degrees while my cousin and I were out (shopping for her apartment again). Today is chilly again.

I woke up feeling really morose about one of my best friends since high school. He was friends with both my brother and I, and I loved him like he was my brother too. He went into the Army, was deployed in Afghanistan, and met and married a woman he met near the base in North Carolina, where he stayed and currently lives. She and I got along great at first, then she verbally abused another (female) mutual friend that we went to high school with, I stood up for that friend and EVER SINCE she has been rude to me, verbally abusive, accused me of trying to sleep with "her man," etc. Last time he was home, he and I went and saw the new Star Wars movie (the first of the new ones) as we both loved Star Wars and it was our "thing" when we were in high school to skip classes and go see the "old new" movies. And she blew up his phone the whole time, and then sent me scathing messages that had me in tears. I "broke up" with my friend then. I said I didn't deserve her verbal assaults, and that I couldn't keep him in my life if that was going to keep happening. So we haven't spoken since. Anyway, I woke up with a bee in my bonnet and just kept replaying her last rant-message in my head. How I was a worthless, garbage human, and he'd never sleep with me because I was so fat, etc etc. looked at the calendar and realized it's their 10 year anniversary. Did my subconscious know??

qotd: yes on the flu shot! I do feel kind of icky for a day afterward, but I had the full-blown flu a couple months before I started on the WLS journey and it lasted almost 2 weeks. I'll take my chances with the shot.

Breakfast: coffee and HWC

snack: Greek L&F

lunch: 3 oz deli turkey and 2 slices of swiss

dinner: I'm making "crustless" chicken pot pie. Basically, I'm just making the filling, heavy on the chicken.

I am so sorry to hear about your friend's wife. It sounds like she needs help and is acting out and taking out her own insecurities on you. That must feel awful.

You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

I'm positive that's exactly it. I just don't know how I can carry on a friendship with her lurking in the background, reading his messages, etc.

Good Morning! I am so tired today-I thought I slept okay but I have work stuff running in the back of my mind at the moment so I don't think I am getting restful sleep-bring on the coffee.

QOTD: Yup, I have gotten the flu shot for 14 years. The first year I got it, I was pregnant with my daughter and since I was due in December and would not be able to get the shot my doctor told me how important it was for my hubby to get it to reduce the potential of passing anything on to her. We usually have a flu shot day in the office so it's super convenient for me.

Time since surgery: 4 years 1 month

B: SF latte, eggbeaters, ½ an orange and 2 turkey sausage links

L: Albacore lettuce wraps and baby carrots

S: Simply protein chips (spicy chili), carbmaster yogurt and an iced latte bar.

D: Grilled chicken breast on top of TJ spiral carrots with alfredo sauce and mozzarella cheese, spinach salad with Walden farms ranch, sliced fruit, and 2 squares dark chocolate

ES: Homemade Greek yogurt with SF syrup and ¼ cup fiber cereal

E: 6 miles ran this morning and 40 mins of elliptical at lunch

V/W: On track

Good morning menu buddies! I put up the autumn decorations yesterday! It is also getting super chilly now. This is genuinely my favorite time of year. I even love the Seattle rain.

I am debating getting Halloween candy early this year. Candy has been so easy for me to lay off, the one piece I had a while back was sickly sweet and for a chocolate snob there was no chocolate flavor. I can't believe I used to like that stuff... but then I remind myself what used to happen if I brought Halloween candy into the house early... We typically get over 500 kids trick or treating at our house and so I try to get good deals on the candy, and I have a coupon that expires next week...ugh decisions.

Qotd: I always get my flu shot. I don't work as a nanny anymore but that is where it started. Working with kids regularly is certainly motivation to try anything to avoid getting sick! Now though, I haven't had the flu in 11 years getting the shot, so I will stick with it!

Accountability: A very good day yesterday. 2 hours on the treadmill, food was good although protein came in just a hair lower than I hoped.

Bf: 2 vanilla protein pancakes, 1t margarine, 1/4 cup sugar free syrup...oh shoot, no, I am out.... 2T sugar free preserves instead.

MS: ostrim meat stick, 8oz fairlife milk

L: leftover realgood pizza

AS: premier protein shake

D: fresh start Bariatric cookbook Slow Cooker Asian Pork, cooked soft carrots, 4 triscuits

A protein water at some point

Goals: 1000 calories, 100g protein, 100oz water, 1hour personal training, 1hour treadmill, all vitamins!

We get no trick or treat kids. I want to come to your house and hand out candy!

Our first house in the PNW didn't get any either. It is such a change now. But it does get a little bit overwhelming! 3 hours straight of huge groups of kids. It is primarily because we live in a circle that is low traffic and super safe.
