cod fish
Did anyone have cod fish during puree stage? I'm trying to change it up a bit. Eating the same thing is getting boring.

I actually didn't do any puree, I just did liquids and greek yogurt. I tried pureed chilli and it grossed me out, however I did have refried beans and a dehydrated split pea soup that was the consistency of puree that was really good. Right after surgery everything tasted too sweet so the soup and beans was a good change.
Good Luck!

That has to be a regional thing!!! I did mash up fish during that phase. I think I pureed something like that once. I would add a little stock or something to keep it moist and soft. Have fun ;)

I wasn't able to puree much. This is why I've been having jello. It's hard to eat something you find disgusting. Honestly I was better with the liquid diet than this but I know I have to get protein in and my nutritionist said no protein shakes since it's not the same as having actual protein. Everyone gets told different things with the shakes too. Some people were told to continue drinking them, I wish I was one of those people. I love the shakes! They are filling and taste delicious. One shake would probably last me all day but thats ok.

So protein shakes are bad but jello is good? That does not make any sense to me. Jello is not the same as having actual protein either.
I would question your nut on this.

So, are you saying you are consuming all that jello for protein? Were you advised by your team that jello was preferable to a protein shake? If so, you are receiving some poor advice. Jello is not a good source of protein for us. Yes, it has collagen, but it is an incomplete protein. If you can't tolerate real food, shakes would be preferable to jello.

lol no, I have jello because I can't do the puree. I want to do protein shakes instead of puree but thats not what the nutritionist wants. I type things really fast here since I don't want anyone at work seeing the website I'm on. I will try to only write at home so I can take my time and break my sentences down.
No one knows I did this surgery so I'm constantly hiding things from people around me whether that be at work or at relatives homes. Not that I'm ashamed or anything like that but my family is very judgemental and the last thing I want to hear everytime I'm around them is how I couldn't do this on my own, blah blah blah.

Your reasoning still does not make sense. Jello is not better than protein shakes. If this is what your NUT is telling you, you need a new NUT. Or you need to do your own research.

She said protein shakes doesn't provide the same nutritional value as a piece of meat. She wants me to puree but as I said, I can't, I throw it up and since I pretty much throw everything up aside from jello, mash and eggs (now cause I was throwing that up too), I do more jello. Hopefully today I have more options given and I can begin to eat other things.
As far as the research goes, I have searched and I've spoken to others that said they did have shakes after surgery for protein. That's something I'm bringing up today because I really want to do the protein shakes instead of puree if I have to stay on puree longer.

Fish is probably the easiest protein to get down but I'd proceed with caution.
Ive had fish roe dip but never actual puréed fish
