What's on your Wednesday Menu RNY'ers?
Mornin' All!
my weight is up a bit this morning - it'll be all hands on deck for a few days (although I suspect it's mostly sodium). Two classes today - then a long meeting tonight. Not too much time for other things...although I'm going to try to make a yoga class.
QOTD: I'm really happy with my RNY. I had GERD as a pre-op, so it was a no-brainer for me. It went completely away for two years, but it's back now (although not as bad as it was pre-op), so I can't imagine where I'd be GERD-wise if I'd have had VSG.
3 years 4 months out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt with 1/2 mango
MS: coffee with half & half, Miralax/protein shake
L: cottage cheese and strawberries
D: blackened chicken breast, salad
ex: yoga
Good morning. Today would have been my oldest DD's 46th Birthday. Happy Birthday Elise!
QOTD: Yes, right now I am super happy with my VSG. I still also can eat essentially anything (just less) and I still have a touch of IBS. I no longer get heartburn because a hiatal hernia was corrected, but I am nervous about it coming back due to issues others have had. I still think I would choose VSG after weighing the pros and cons, but would be less nervous about RNY than I was at the time I made the choice.
2.5 Years post-op (maintaining below goal for 22 months)
Always lots of coffee...
B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: Tuna, pickles and cottage cheese
D: Salmon (left over from last night)
S: homemade cottage cheese with torani syrup

Good morning! I've been going to bed nice and early and I feel like it's making a huge difference on my mood and productivity. Not that it surprises me, but I need to remember this next time I want to read "one more chapter" or watch "one more episode."
i went shopping with my cousin last night for "apartment stuff." She recently broke off an engagement and has been staying with a friend but the arrangement isn't ideal so she finally found an apartment. She didn't take anything when she left her fiancé and is starting over fresh. So I helped her shop for all the little odds n ends she'll need immediately--dishes, silverware, garbage can, cleaning supplies, shower curtain, TP, paper towels, bath towels, dish towels, lamps (the apartment has no overhead lighting) etc etc etc. it was super fun, and I could tell that while she didn't want to spend all that money, she hasn't been able to do what she wants for a long time (she left an abuser). Her absolute joy at picking out dishes and bathroom colors that nobody had to approve of but her was SO FUN.
qotd: I honestly didn't even consider another surgery and have no regrets. At 340 lbs I felt like I needed more than just restriction to help me get to a healthier weight. When I was restricting on my own (and starving every day) I still only managed to lose 10-15 lbs.
breakfast: americano with sugar free caramel
midmorning: Greek L&F
lunch: 3 oz deli turkey, 2 slices of Swiss, pickle spear
dinner: "cleaning out the fridge" night. I'll eat leftover chili or a salad with chopped leftover chicken breast

Good morning. I'm visiting a client today and then off to San Fransisco for meetings on Thursday and Friday. I probably won't post tomorrow because I don't know my password to log in on my phone. Happy to get a few days away from the commute into Chicago
QOTD: I am happy with RNY so far. I do think that I will need to start on the Miralax routine quickly. I wish I knew more about how DS worked, but that is only out of curiosity not regret.
Breakfast: Turkey sausage
Snack: Greek Yogurt
Lunch: Volpi
snack: Greek yogurt
Dinner: Hamburger, steamed broccoli
Have a great day all

Good Morning! I spent most of yesterday thinking it was Wednesday and thinking we had the A's game to watch only to realize at about 3:00 that it was only Tuesday...LOL
QOTD: I would still choose the RNY. I have been a teeny jealous when I have seen some coworkers who have had VSG eat sweets and not have "to worry" about it. It only lasts a split second as I know that would not work for me anyways-slippery slope. The fear of dumping still has me not yet willing to test it. Now RH and I have had our moments.
