happy hump day happy people! If you made it this far you'll make it to the rest of the week. Life is a dull roar at the moment. My Boss has been out and seems like he will be out for another month. I'm Pretty self sufficient- but he'd just hired someone who is trying to take over the whole office (eyeroll). It's also high school pick time for my younger son- so lots of school tours in my near future.

Qotd: so we all choose a wls, and it offers different procedures-- Does anyone wish they'd have chosen a different procedure? If so, why?

I'm happy with my RNY and the affect it's had in my body (so far). Not just weight loss effect, but overall. One thing I like to point out to pre-ops is you should know the basic truths of how your body works. I had a stomach of steel pre op and it's the same post op. I'm regular in the BM department both before and after-- I'm glad my procedure didn't impact some 'norms' for me. I wonder if sometimes people think the surgery will correct non weight-related issues (like maybe IBS)... but that's not what's its designed to do; them blame the surgery on the continued issue. I feel like I'm rambling- hope I'm making sense.

Hello All,

During recess yesterday, the teachers were talking about Tuesday being the 'armpit' of the week. Yup, pretty much right on. Got an email from my principal that we will have our Secure Status drill next Tuesday and it is totally stressing me out. This drill is with cops, and drones, and a 'bad' man in the red suit. Of course, the children are going to be there and it just makes me so nervous and emotional. I cried at the end of the last drill watching 400+ children running for their lives to our rally point. Ugh, I hate the world we live in. End of rant...

QOTD: I didn't have a choice when it came to rny. My band had to come out and the damage it had done required more surgery to correct the reflux/GERD. So glad I did it. I couldn't even imagine weighing in the 160s a year ago. I just can't wrap my head around it really. I have days where nothing tastes good (last nights dinner was the worst.) But I am glad I did it and I have an awesome doctor/surgeon.

9 months out - weight 169.5

B: overnight oats ~1/4 C greek yogurt, 1/4 C oats, 1/4 milk, 1 tsp chia seed, 1 tbsp local honey, 1/4 C blueberries

S: PP vanilla shake

L: tuna pack

S: greek yogurt or baby bell cheese (couldn't decide so I packed both)

D: homemade sausage tortellini soup

Have a great day everyone!

edit: Could someone tell me what the C means in camaw? I get the all meat all week but for the life of me I can't remember the C. tia

You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

"critter" - but it basically means you can eat other animal protein (rather than just meat)

When I was growing up we had to do air raid drills in school in case we were ever being bombed. Not so different unfortunately.

C= Critter

Critter and All Meat All Week- it's if you are adding dairy.

Funny food doesn't necessarily taste bad but not necessarily good, I think it does get better with time. I am always surprised when I taste something and it is delicious and in am always disappointed when I want something to be delicious and it's like- meh.

At least your school does the drills, in case something happens. My son's school I feel they have their head in the sand and won't do anything. Unfortunately we live in an era that it can happen anywhere, even in a sleepy little town like ours. It breaks my heart just thinking about it.

hi all

one more day of driving after today- thank goodness. it took me 1 hour 15 min this morning and that was waaay too long. for lunch today I have a choice of boot camp or my own workout- so I think I will choose the latter. I really don't want to do drills with my coworkers- blerg- will lift weights and do TRX I think

so on the way home i went to h mart the asian grocery to get some shiritaki noodles which I was missing in my diet. they are zero cal and filling. I've been eating mostly all protein and veg recently to stay on track and trying to drop a few pounds also before my 3 year ANNIV in Dec and surgeon checkin.

Food for today:

B: ribeye steak/mug bean sprouts/asian cabbage

L: rotis chicken/acorn squash

S: spinach sautee and tomato/celery

D: swai fish filet from market- yippie

S: not sure maybe a yogurt?

QOTD: I wouldn't change anything.

QOTD: I am happy with RNY as I had gotten to the point where I would restrict my food and I would only lose 10lbs... so I felt I needed the advantage of malabsorption to get me on my way. I also was in denial about my silent GERD, which is now not silent so I am really glad I didn't get the VSG.

B: Fairlife latte, overnight oats w/protein

L: hamburger w/fried egg, green beans

D: creamy Dijon chicken on Spinach

S: yogurt, apple, egg w/SL bread(pre-workout), protein

Ex: gym time

not sure how dinner will pan out as I am going to a dinner time Mental Health talk that is providing 'light refreshments ' So... if I eat there, we will see.

Your menu posts starting with the "fairlife latte" got me curious, so I checked out a bottle of the fat free Fairlife milk.... I wish I could hug you. Thank you SO much! This stuff is amazing!

So glad you checked it out.

Around me Target is the cheapest place to buy it and they sometimes put it on sale. I buy a lot of staples at Targey/ butter, eggs, fairlife, cashew milk...
